To Catch a Thief Sixer

edited November 2014 in Bigger Than Texas
My TCAT sixer... I still haven't hung it up - so depressed when I see it there rolled up on the floor.  I have to get my kitchen finished so I can move into the old informal with the cathedral ceilings to get it up!

  • Love it Charlie! What a poster too have massively beautiful!
  • Thanks Reg!
  • Hey Charlie when u sending this to me?  =P~
  • Yeah and then what would you do with it?

Send it to me Charlie, I'd frame it and hang it...
  • Yeah right, you don't even like Hitchcock films!
  • I collect movie poster art not movies
  • Haha you guys are funny..
  • Thanks for sharing this link Charlie you have relieved my stress showing me Mario's work here. Especially seeing the size of your poster since mine is very large. Can't wait to get my poster back from him. Your poster looks great is all I can say.

I really am starting to hate this poster!!! I had to take it down because I didn't plan well the layout of the studio and needed the wall space.

First I paid too much for it.

Second, there is only one wall in my house where I can hang it with out covering a plug. I have plenty of 83" walls but by the time you add the extra backing an a frame you need 90".

Third you can't just buy a frame for it.

Fourth it's too big to roll or store with out getting dirty.

Fifth it really needs its own lighting, because it looks dull with just room lighting...

I feel like just trading it or selling it... No more six sheets for me!
  • Well it's certainly a beautiful & striking poster but I can see how the size can be a hindrance;; and your issues. Our house has vaulted about 16ft ( we just moved in & I haven't measured yet) but as in look around, very few options to hang. Selling should be an option to recover costs, just may take a while.
  • Trade it to a retsuarant for a year's worth of dinners for the family.
  • Further evidence why larger posters, despite their relative rarity vs. a one sheet or smaller, consistently do not bring the $ results

Consign it/sell it Charlie and use the money to get 5+ smaller posters you really want and can display properly
  • What a great problem to have.

  • Sell the giant bastard!!!!
  • I don't think I'll sell it.  I guess I'll just have to buy a bigger house!  Until then...

    That's the attitude!
  • It's so sad... This sucker is just rolled up in the corner.  I never did buy another 6 sheet.
  • No frame could hold it’s amazingness. The pieces of flexible Mylar/Acrylic slowly moved out of the frame until they pretty much fell out. I would have to find a large piece of acrylic or, not so cool if it broke, glass... I don’t have a great solution other than leave it exposed from the wall.
  • Time to sell it on Charlie!
  • If I could trade it and my insert for the British Quad, I'd be game (and probably dreaming)...
