Thanks Sven! This early purchase along with The Paleface really set the tone for my collecting.
You know, one thing I really do like about this site-and the immense amount of daybills I've laid eyes on that has effected this- is how much the members here appreciate the art on posters & not just the popular high priced posters.
.....then of course there's Charlie's BAT! :how_interesting:
Mark take a url from your photo book paste it into the url place holder from the little paper thing above and then hit the right arrow on your keyboard once... I just tried it with your other PB image...
Wow!!! It uploaded from my Photobucket acct!!! Thx for the video David and Charlie for the "space bar" tip; never would have thought of that! I'm back in business!!!
My first Australian Daybill- Raiders Of The Lost Ark. I think it said It was for New Zealand release. Needs a few corners, to keep or remove the snipe...my 2nd Raiders...
Indeed it was used for NZ, the GY snipe is a NZ censor's sticker added to it when the poster was shipped to NZ (it means General Admission) - if you peel it back you will likely find the Australia censor NRC (not Recommended for Children - they're a sensitive lot back then) which will be printed on it (you can probably see it through the paper on the reverse side), once you have peeled it off you have an Australian Daybill!
Cool! I will take a flashlight to the censor stamp to see what's behind it. I know many save stamps-i have a Bulgarian poster which has some cool stamps from '42, but in this case I will likely take off the GY snipe during the wash.
Like my first Locandia, i was surprised -but happy- the DB paper was thin, like a one sheet. I haven't made any progress towards paper backing yet-just one experiment on a low priced lobby. So this will get linen backed once i get some practice on paper fills.
