Is Outing 'In Forum' To Be Allowed?

edited April 2014 in The End is Near...
Should members be allowed to out an auction for a poster in a post in this forum? If YES then any member can post information about the sale and/or auction of a movie poster; if NO then any public outing of an auction and/or sale will be immediately deleted by a mod (a public flogging will follow). This vote does not apply to a dealer and/or member outing his own auction or sales event.

There is no time limit on this poll, the rule will be as per the current results of the votes in this poll. In other words whatever leads the count IS the rule.

You know it doesn't count when you out your own auction.

(and I like how this posts your vote below your name when one comments)
  • I wouldn't have one of my top five posters if Matt had outed a certain auction... Paul and others send me stuff all the time. I don't see it as selfishness but targeted generosity...
  • Targeted generosity...lol

  • Come with me....Humphrey.......image
  • I don't think Dealers should be aloud to vote, outing is only in their interest.  [-X
  • Davids a dealer too..  [-X
  • I advertise my posters, if you didn't see them already, you're a dunce.
that said, I have never outed one of my own auctions anywhere except the correct place (dealer threads) so it doesn't benefit me commercially
  • by the way Paul.. I like that quad you're using for your avatar.. sweet

Are dealer's really outing an auction when it's their own auction or are they simply advertising? I would suggest the latter - besides they are restricted to promote in their own thread [edit: wjhich is what Rich just said]

    Davids a dealer too..  [-X
I am not in the same league as those we would call the 'main players' and besides I don't need to sell posters to put food on the table or pay the mortage or even buy me some Maccas, I simply deal to support my poster collecting habit. My neighbour collects American muscle cars, he has about 6 or 7  in his garage, sometimes he sells them and then buys more, I have never considered him to be a car dealer...
  • I don't mean their own, I think they have every right to push their auctions when and as often as they want. I'm talking random posts not related to themselves Including David, or who ever as long as they make it clear it's their own item they are selling, that is a different matter.
  • What happened there, I never swore..?  It read I'm
  • The letter m brings that up?
  • Haha... Wondered when that would malfunction.

It really doesn't matter why u sell posters or how many. Many collectors would describe u as a collector/dealer. It doesn't matter anyway u pansies have won the vote. Congrats

OK well I agree with not outing anyone else's auction no matter what you are dealer, private collectors or womble.

Well fair enough, I really don't care if I am called a dealer, the only reason I am is that I have a (damn fine) website that sells posters but I never sell on eBay, yet I could name a few collectors who do sell on eBay, and there'd be plenty of collectors who have bought a poster for a fast flip but are not called dealers either.

That said, it's not like being called a dealer is a bad word, unless it is said with a sanctimonious holier than thou venomous French accent.

And yes, we pansies lead the vote so for the moment the people have spoken!
