Jane Russell The Outlaw period publicity shot.
  • Her Minnie Mouse impression

  • Stop this im about to host a meeting..maybe one more
  • You can never get enough of Jane Russell.
  • So many of these on the Facebook... I'll have to post them when I see them!
  • Name two films from the 1950s where the brief costumes and the over exposure caused the films to receive Suitable For Adults Only censorship ratings in Australia. Had it not been for the attire the films would have received For General; Exhibition or Not Suitable For Children ratings.

I am guessing perhaps Bardot's The Girl in the Bikini (1952)?

    Or in no bikini...

  •  Oh those French were ahead of the times but the two films in question were from the U.S.A. One of the two titles was screened on Australian television in 1969 rated ( G ) and the other one  also has a ( G ) rating when screened on television. To help out no bikinis involved in the images.
  • The Seven Deadly Sins
    The Moon Is Blue
    Every Minute Counts

    and/or
    Moulin Rouge (a British film)

  • Sorry but none of these. The Seven Deadly Sins was a French / Italian co-production. I will shortly provide some clues.
  •                                                           First clue.
  • That be Son of Sinbad

Correct. Son Of Sinbad from 1955.The previous image was of Sally Forrest. Saturday matinee fare rated Suitable Only for adults due to the brief costumes worn throughout the film and a few adult themes. Lili St.Cyr was also a famous high class striptease artist in the 1940s and 1950s.
  • The other film we need to identify has had an image from the film recently appearing on the forum. A connection between the two films exists

The Catholic National Legion Of Decency condemned the film and called for a boycott.
  • Some Like It Hot
  • or the Outlaw (Howard Hughes is the link)
  • Not Some like It Hot or The Outlaw but Howard Hughes is indeed the connection.

  • Must be The French Line

Correct it is The French Line from 1954. This now frees up you day. Good work and to think you had supplied a black and white image earlier from this film with the answer just sitting there.
