  • First, Rich let me know when the first package got there.  Nice!

Then asked if there were any others and there is one tube outstanding.

  • Strip search
  • Matt's job.  :D

    first package arrived yesterday Charlie
I didn't go to the PO today but I suspect the second one will be waiting for me

4-foglios.. good thing I have a Manfrotto 7 foot tripod stand with a 10 foot boom arm
it's great for shooting oversized stuff

it's interesting, for this auction I have the highest number of individual consignors, though some only sent a small few posters.
Quite a number of interesting items for the May auction

  • You wish, Mr Tiny Willy.
  • my nickname is Big Billy
  • Yeah...no worries, Tea Lady.
  • no problem, wonka wanker

    :P
  • Well the auction is over...

I can't honestly say I was satisfied with the results, but that is the risk you take.  However, even given the lower prices, the 25% consignment rate is pretty simple and straight forward.  This rate also means that some of those under performing posters will still yielded some decent return.

Overall a good experience so far.  But what I remembered as I looked over the results, is that movieposterbid is usually where I like to shop for bargains. So to think that the posters I consigned could/should have been different is wishful thinking.

  • SO the question is do you think you came out in front or...
  • Nah, I lost money when considering the purchase price.
  • But did you win in terms of market price?
  • ( ^ funny sig )

So what is the moral of the story?... Go to MPB to pick up posters bargains?

  • I consigned some stuff to Rich and I was happy with the results. Just my opinion. Would I consign again? Definately!
  • I am not unhappy. I am practical about it. Rich did a great job auctioning them.

    • Harry Potter Goblet of Fire - $1 (Paid $5)
    • Harry Potter  Chamber of Secrets - $4 (Paid $5)
    • Harry Potter  Philosopher's Stone - $2 (Paid $5)
    • Harry Potter  Prisoner of Azkaban - $5 (Paid $5)

    • Shawshank Redemption - $1 (Paid 5 Euros)
    • Taxi Driver - $28 (Crack Dealer for about $10)
    • Color of Money - $5 (Crack Dealer for about $10)
    • Harry Potter Goblet of Fire - $2 (Paid 5 Euros)
    • Harry Potter  Chamber of Secrets - $1 (Paid 5 Euros)
    • Harry Potter  Philosopher's Stone - $3 (Paid 5 Euros)
    • Harry Potter  Prisoner of Azkaban - $2 (Paid 5 Euros)
    • Harry Potter  Order of the Pheonix - $2 (Paid 5 Euros)

    • Matrix Reloaded - $5 (Paid 10 Euros)
    • Clockwork Orange RR  - $14 (Paid 10 Euros)

    French Grande: $25
    • Big Lebowski - $25  (I think I paid $40 or $60 for this one)

    Total of $123 * 75% = $92.25

Shipping was about $40 (Italians are heavy) - So I ended up with about ~$40  from posters that cost about $215, so I lost about $175...

Probably should have just kept them in my trunk... This is not Richies fault - I knew the risks.

Moral of the story???  My wife hasn't commented on my hoard since I sold some posters - Priceless!

So you consigned some bottom end titles that you paid not much for and got not much back on, my guess is you wouldn't have netted more anywhere else either?

You spelled "either" wrong David. I am sure it was a typo with the two letters being so close to each other. Its okay we forgive you. The spell check police have not caught your error. So your good
    ;)
  • I don't forgive.... ^ apart for not knowing how to quote a previous post correctly after posting 488 posts, the following are grammatical abominations:

    - It is not correct to use "Its" in this context, it needs to be "it's" or "it is" Reference See
    - "spell check police" should be in capitals i.e. "Spell Check Police"
    - "your good" is incorrect, you need to use "you're good"
    - Need a full stop at the end of the last sentence

    You're welcome.

    :P

  • Oh great the Spell Check Police has arrived. I personally like my grammar the way it is. Makes perfect sense to me English Professor.  :P

I failed English in my HSC (end of High School) and I am now getting back at the world... But it is so much easier to do as I know it rubs Charlie up the wrong way
