It isn't Edward G. Robinson but I must say it does look a little like him.

Photograph taken on the Sabotage set in 1936 and the actor with Alfred Hitchcock is Oscar Homolka,
  •                                 Actually the scene is from the 1920s but being so old I don't think it matters if I include it here. Who is the actor on the right side of the image better known in the 1930s anyway ?

Yes you are right and the film marked the second film for Mickey Rooney at the age of around seven playing a midget in the film Orchids And Ermine ( 1927 ) pictured here with Coleen Moore. This was his feature film debut as his first film was a short. The film Orchids And Ermine still exists today.

  •                                                    Who is this famous actress ?

Had a brief Hollywood career. Does anyone know who it is ?
  • A clue for the actress pictured in the last image. She will be remembered if only for one movie and her appearance in a famous comedy. The first image silhouette is of an actress discussed on the forum recently.
  • I swear I can picture the silhouette actress but for the life of me I cannot put a name to her!

A favourite of some members of this forum and from the Warner Bros. stable of stars.
  •  Name the two stars and the film title? One of them  was soon to be on the way out and the other one was soon destined for greater things.
  • Last one is Clara Bow...
  • Rex Bell is her sailor...Thanks google!
  • Last one is Clara Bow...

    Correct.
Rex Bell is her sailor...Thanks google!

Sorry but not correct. Right film the scene is from but the wrong actor from the film. Google will help you if you check again.

    Frederic March
  •            Ves correct with Fredric March. True To The Navy was released in 1930. In 1927 Clara Bow was the ''It girl''.
  • Gawd I wish I had some paper with her on it!
  •

Raquel Torres ( best remembered for 1933's Duck Soup )                                            Kay Francis

  •  Name the actress and the film.
  • Sign of the Cross - but not sure of the name of the actress or the ape.

Correct. The Sign Of The Cross a  1932 a  pre code film. An unbilled actress I was hoping someone may have known her name. Perhaps the person in the ape outfit was simply known as ''ape'' on set. I have just had a thought to use some more pre code images to guess. Any objections? I'm thinking not.

Given the state of undress of the actress one could be forgiven for thinking the ape was the casting director. He was short bugger too...

A quick (but unverified) search suggest the name of the actress may have been Vivan Tobin

The ape wasn't the only animal in this scene

And the woman wasn't the only actress killed/tortured by animal in the movie. Below is Sally Rand who had an uncredited role (according to her family members) as the woman who is about to have her head bitten off by an alligator near the end.

Sally Rand was an exotic dancer, one of DeMille's regulars - she pioneered the Fan Dance. She was arrested at the Chicago World's Fair for coming as Lady Godiva.

She is seen here wearing the standard uniform of the woman about to meet demise by animal.

And as the movie was Pre-Code, Claudette Colbert gives us a reason why milk is good for us...very very good.

  •   Clara Bow ( top ) from Hula ( 1927 ) & Myrna Loy ( above ) from The Barbarian ( aka A Night In Cairo in Australia ) ( 1933 ).

Let's not forget Hedy Lamarr in Ecstasy from 1933.
