What Posters Do You Absolutely Love Regardless of Value?

edited December 2016 in Various Thoughts
This may seem out of place in this site dedicated toward vintage movie posters, but the poster I love the most so far is the one for Disney's Mulan. I find the artstyle gorgeous. The sharp edges employed around both the horse and Mulan complement it greatly. The eyes are magnificent! I'd like to imagine it would look better without the text or as just red and black. With both covered in all black with just their eyes being visible. I like this poster so much even though it's not currently worth much. It's funny because I think this poster probably oversold the film because the style makes it seem like its' promoting a serious movie where in fact the opposite is true. Since I wanted to bring this up, I was wondering. As poster aficionados and collectors, what posters would you guys consider gorgeous? What would you guys take into consideration for you to "love" a poster?

  • Heaps. I've got lots for virtually nothing but i still like them, usually connected to gaudy horror images.

    Mulan is a nice one.
  • Hello Quiet and welcome

And no not at all, no comment about any movie poster is out of place.

I've an eye for the ladies, particularly those stars from days gone by. Monroe, Sheridan, Welch, Hayworth, Lake, Bardot, Ball, White (as in Snow not Betty). That said, one of my cheapest finds is also a fav.

  • BAT...  Audrey...
  • Actually I fell in love with the Polish version of Picnic too.  It's a simple silhouette but I can't stop looking at it even years later now.
  • I have several Polish posters.  They always seem to have a unique and artistic take.
I really like a Danish poster for Top Hat that I picked up cheap years ago.  The colors really suit the film:

  • Oh that's pretty Jay.  No seen that before.

Like Charlie, the ones I love stop me in my tracks and I cant stop looking at em.

When they go up at home, I spend ages just standing in front of them!  Too many to pick just one...changes all the time.

Don't own a BAT, if I did it would be near as hell top of the list.
  • That Top Hat is gorgeous, Jay.
  • There are alot of posters in my collection. Off the ones that are not worth that much, but really value because of the artwork this poster below says it all. Funny thing is the film came out last year.

  • It is a pretty poster reminds me of:

  • Used to own:

    Africa Adventure (1954 SSF)

  • Picnic Polish...

  • Horrible movie, $10 poster, but I really like the image
