If your profession is discussed, do you agree with the chosen film and why? What other films are good choices for your profession?
If your profession is excluded, do "profess" the best film about it

I actually did second-chair one jury case as wacky as MCV. We represented the wife who was suing for divorce, child custody, and $$$$. I could write a screen-play about that crazy case! The husband owned the only porn store in the county and had ALLEGEDLY buried mountains of untaxed cash proceeds from the store. We presented lots of sleazy witnesses who described his shenanigans. Our client was cosmetically "enhanced" to the max and had received $100K in jewelry from husband. When questioned, she admitted she had condoned and benefitted from the shenanigans but could not quit working for the store because "I was the world's best vibrator salesperson!" Eventually, both parties became convinced the FBI was monitoring the trial and agreed to settle after four days of trial before they got arrested!
Most movies with an engineer character, either treat the guy as comic relief, or totally ignore engineering.
It also focuses in on the psychological aspect of playing poker that is so important (if a great player gets drunk or high, he is no longer the best player and he can be beat by someone who can exploit his weaknesses, even if they are a lesser player). And of course game selection is vital. You need to avoid games where your opponents are almost as good as you, and of course you must always be alert to the possibility of being cheated.
Two poker movies that might have been great were "The Cincinnati Kid" and "Rounders" if only they had been able to hire an honest technical advisor, and if they had listened to that person.

I recently watched Chicago and lawyer extraordinaire Billy Flynn (Richard Gere, who knew he could sing?) can "razzle-dazzle" 'em:
In almost every movie with a major poker scene, one person has four of a kind and the other has a straight flush. I think they think that is all the public is capable of understanding.

A Big Hand For The Little lady ( 1966 ). I remember this film having some great poker game scenes. Have yoiu seen this one Bruce, and if so whar do you think of it ?
