  • Awesome Mark!
  • Thanks very much. Never thought I'd see one.
  • That's pretty epic Mark, I've got the daybill and one sheet, but now I feel I need that beauty as well!!

On the subject of 3 sheets, I picked this up last week, I've just got the 6 sheet to go (watching the one on heritage like a hawk!)

And this 'firecracker' was a local find at the weekend.

  • Definitely 2 great posters! Congrats!

  • Jung rocks, Wil! And a really cool lookin Duke!
  • @Eisenhower cheers mate, here's the reverse of the duke promotion.

  • I'm a SW guy so appreciate that 3 sheet. I just wish MAPS had printed one.
JW is also a great piece. There is heaps of collectable ephemera and accessories available out there. Old film mags, tie-ins, scripts etc are all part of the backstory.

@Mark Thanks, I'm a 'bit' of a SW guy myself and intend displaying it with my full set of one Sheets, Quads and full set of cased vintage figures  B)

As for the JW advertisement, there was another with it. A nice tie in to his Republic work and certainly not something I'd seen before.

  • Indeed! Very cool promotional materials.

    Fighting Kentuckian piece is great!
  • I love all that stuff & it's usually quite affordable.
I have all Aust SW posters barring ROTS mini. Majority of the one sheets are rolled including Style A 1st release & ESB.
This is a neat prog I picked up recently.

Nice Mark, these others were with the JW.

  • Cool. I like the old press books, especially if Australian.

Didn't know their were Aussie PB. Are they typically dated?

Does this help sometimes in determining a release Year for Daybill?

  • Great resource material you have there. I wish I had them. I assume that they are all Australian. On what I can see they appear to be 1950's and 1960's. Alfred Hitchcock's Strangers On a Train too I noticed on closer examination. What number would estimate you have there?
  • @hondo I'd say a couple of hundred in total. I've got another pile boxed up in storage, however we finally snared a new house last week, so I'll be able to pull everything out in a week or two.

Not usually dated. The art is nearly always for the ad blocks rather than the posters. There are re-release press sheets and they are generally single page with limited info. You can recognise the originals by font style etc.
  •  For lots of information and images on campaign books / pressbooks take a first look or have another look at John's  New Pressbooks For My Collection thread.

Thanks guys! Good info! Will have a look at John's thread.
  • 2.5m banner arrived today. If anyone has an Aust Terminator press sheet can they check if banners are listed in accessories please.

  • Oh baby!  That is awesome Mark.
  • Very cool, Mark!
  • Agreed! The Ahh-nuld in his prime!! Banners rule!
  • Just a quickie post from me. Typically (but not always) 1 sheet posters for 50's 3D movies have the best art. However, with limited space for posters, inserts are a decent alternative. I was happy to win these 3 the other day to add to the mostly 50's 3D collection. The hallmark for me about artwork on posters advertising 3D movies is the campy "coming out of the screen"  image, and my first entry is sorely lacking in that respect:

It gets a little better with this one, especially with the different angles and perspectives going on:

And lastly, my fave of the three:

    :)

  • There's an alarming lack of cleavage in this thread.
I'll try to fix it with some Fuego

And some intimacies of a prostitute

  • Nice 3-D inserts Rock! The Stanwyck IS nice!

And Matias, you took the 3-D to another level!
  • Boobies! ( . )( . ) Matias for the win!
  • I tried my best, Mark! ;)
  • The Mysterious Rider Australian Long Daybill
