Thank You Lawrence & Matt. Yes we love them too, there are people who own a permanent store and create a site to develop, we have done the opposite, the permanent store is a kind of dream and an outcome for us
Thanks for letting me join, Charlie, and for connecting me, Chris. Some of us may be familiar with each other from APF as I've been a member there for close to three years. I've been collecting movie paper along with comics, illustration art, and Pop Culture goodies for about 45 years now, though was just a kid back in those early days spending lawn mowing money! Prices were much lower back then and those mowing dollars had, from hindsight, some amazing buying power. I hope my lack of Aussie movie paper doesn't offend too many here (Chris!). I'm looking forward to joining the fun on VMPF.
Yeah, somwhere along the way, we got labeled an Aussie forum... Truth is we just have the best poster collectors out there and many of those tend to be from down under! AND Chris... We have talked about it many times why it went this way and end the end we just have really great people at VMPF. We all help each other out as much as we can and generally like each other.
So welcome! - from the tone of your posts on APF, I think you will fit right in.
A bit of history: This forum was an all out rebellion against APF (some 7 years ago now, I think) - one Australian (Matt), one New Zealander living in Australia (David), and I - a Texan started it after some trouble on APF. We were tired of the fighting (like the current Jeffgate thread for example) and tired of all the dealer posts. Later David moved on and Mark from Arizona was an admin for a while. Now it is back to Matt and I...
So we basically have two rules - 1. No fighting... 2. No Dealer posts...
As a badge - I was previously the only member ever banned on APF. Shutting the forum down was threatened many times and I posted to Holiday "Shit or get off the pot"... A phrased used quite a bit down here in Texas. Banned!... lol Holiday and I talked it out over the phone and I was eventually reinstated a week or so later. But the damage was done...
Matt and David were already thinking what I was thinking and here we are.
We just want our members to have fun and for the site to be a resource for collecting. Reach out to any of us if you have questions.
Thanks Chris, Matt, and Charlie for the welcome! I'm all in for fun! I'm heading off now into deep VMPF to figure out if I can post some posters. Wish me luck. P.S. My avatar is from my collection and seems to be the only known original 6 sheet (the upper 2/3) for Son of Dracula. Thanks for the heads-up on that one, Chris! Okie
Welcome Okie. You are a wonderful addition to this forum! What this forum needs badly are more people with a love of posters themselves, who do not look at them as "investments". And Okie surely is one of those!

Hello, about a decade ago I was a member here. Well, illness and various life things got in the way so I set aside posters for a while. Well, now I'm back! I have about 1,000 posters and I'm interested in linen backing.
Hello everyone, good to be here. I live in NSW and have been collecting movie posters for 15 years or so. Started out by giving a poster as a present but it quickly became my love, not theirs. Had a five year gap in there but now the obsession is back!
I collect mainly pre-70s Australian posters of any size and genre - usually based on movies I love - as I am a huge film fan. I also have a smattering of foreign posters from Spain, Belgium, Denmark, France and Germany and a few from the US. Oh and a recently acquired side obsession with Danish film programs.
Your forum threads look really interesting and I already have poster envy! Cheers for the invite, Sarah-Jane
New here. I enjoy reading about the work you all have done.
I'm primarily a pencil artist but "dabble" in other mediums. I've been patching old 60s rock handbills together for years and also became an "OK" framer/ glazer.
I see there's a lot of expertise here. Nice to see the information shared. This is great!
I'm nearing retirement but I'm a veteran, manufacturing engineer, corporate and Homeland Security manager.
Always willing to share and assist when/where I can.
Oh, by the way, my forum name is a tribute to my heroes. I can't be taken TOO seriously at times!
Hi ! I'm Diego, from Spain. I LOVE movies and I used to have some movie posters when young, hanging from the walls and ceiling, Hehehe ! But I throwed away in the 90's, no idea many years later I would be buying them again for high prices, Hehehe ! I started last month, I got some from here in my country and four more from "originalfilmart" website in USA. I only have 8 for now and I'm not sure if two of them are fakes, still figuring it out, things are difficult this days with so good scanning and printing equipment. Anyways, Thank you to Charlie for the invitation, Cheers !

Thank you to all of you ! A question : How can I cancel a comment ? Even if I close this window in the web browser before sending my comment, when I open the discusson again, my last comment appear just like I left it, in editing mode, I can only use the "Post comment" button. Thanks !
Been looking to a community like this for a long time.
Been collecting both US & Bollywood posters for almost 20 years (although with different paces) , I'm from Morocco , and I am hugely keen to expanding it more and more within the next months.
So, if there is any advice, sellers or simply inspiration.. Hit me !!

What's your interest in linenbacking? It certainly can be a controversial topic given some "over restored" pieces for sale.
