November 2021

edited November 2021 in Recent Acquisitions
When I first saw the unbacked and unrestored Dracula (R1951) and Wolf Man (R1948) one sheets in nice condition in Bruce's/emovieposter Halloween auction, I was pretty excited.  It had been quite some time since I had seen either of these posters in nice condition in their raw state.  I'm looking forward to seeing them in person and framing alongside their horror cousins. Here's the emovieposter photos as I can't take them better than Bruce's folks!

Best wishes everyone for a great upcoming holiday season! Okie

  • In a word  FANTASTIC!
  • Awesome Okie - big congrats!
  • Amazing wins!
  • What a pair! They came from a guy who started collecting before Okie or I did, and I imagine he had them for around half a century.

It is great to know they are staying together that much longer!

  • Wowie, those are great! Congratulations! You're in that rarified air with Hammett, Zombie and the late, great Johnny Ramone!
  • Wonderful, especially Dracula
  • FREEEEEEEEEEEEED!! Great trio of pickups, Rick, but especially the rockin' 1 sheet!
  • Thanks Hondo, Chris, SJC, Bruce, Rockabilly, and Rick!

Bruce: thanks especially for letting me know the Dracula and Wolf Man were in the same long time collection.  That makes them even more special to me.  I love the idea that they were taped up on the wall at one time.  That's real early collector enjoyment!

Rockabilly: You give me great compliment, sir!  Wow, wouldn't it be fun to talk collecting around the camp fire with all of us and include Kirk, Rob, and Johnny(RIP)? It's cool to know the enjoyment in collecting binds us all together.

Rick: Oh man, I love "Screen Taboos Smashed!" "sin-alleys of three continents" is pretty good, too.

    Okie
  • Wow guys! Great start to the month!

Ditto! Killer posters. Dracula is always a winner. AND anything with Anita Ekberg is fine by me.
  • I’ve never been an autograph guy but the opportunity came up to get Mel to sign a poster. So I sent my money and my poster and got this back yesterday. Pretty cool…

  • Great poster, Charlie! A bit of an EKG of a signature, but I'd imagine most celebs arrive at that sooner or later. Additionally, I was today years old when I learned that AIP had their hand in that movie.
  • I was watch What Women Want and you’ll notice his hands/fingers shake when he gets animated. I just imagine someone put a sharpie in his fingers and pointed him to the poster.
  • Thanks, Matt and Charlie!

Charlie, very cool you got Mel Gibson's autograph on your Mad Max poster! Great movie!  Okie

It's been a while since my last purchase but a member here offered me this one for sale, so I took it.

It Came From Beneath the Sea ( 1955 Australian/NZ one sheet  )
