    O.k. it certainly appears that 278 isn't going to be solved. I will now reveal that the film in question is Konga from 1961.

     The male person featured in my previously posted below image from the film is distinguished English actor Michael Gough. I had thought that he would have been possibly recognised as he played the butler Alfred in the first four Batman movies that were released between 1989 and 1997.

    Correct. Joan Crawford appeared in feature films starting in 1925 and finishing with Trog in 1970. An undisputed screen legend.

    The film was directed by E.A. Dupont, a German who had been a renowned director in Germany and the U.K.. in his silent and early sound career.

    His later Hollywood career had him directing only a small number of low budget ''B'' movies
