Re: A Do You Know Your Classic Movies Quiz.
Correct. It is indeed Gary Sinise seen in the image C169.
I haven't ever included this image here on this particular thread, or any other forum thread. I surely would have remembered. Also I do list everything used here on the forum. and on searching no sighting at all found of this Forrest Gump image, or anything familiar in any shape and form has been located here included from any other memberd either.

Still unpacking and ran across my autographed Stark Fear 1 Sheet. The director was my film professor in college, he happily signed this one.

Re: Ellery Queen Columbia Pictures Series ( 1940 -1942 ) Australian posters.
Thanks Rick and Ves for responding.
This Ellery Queen example really highlights, compared to the U.S.A., the huge amount of missing posters from the period up to 1960. So many films, including some classics, I am unable to locate any Australian posters of.
Yes slowly and surely previous unseen titles turn up on a regular basis, yet we still have a long way to go. One has to wonder if there are a lot of missing yet unseen posters sitting in private collections known only to their owners, and also their family and friends.
The current project that I am undertaking in compiling a list of just only 1950's musical genre films has pressed home the point of where are these large numbers missing film posters? How many will ever surface, one has to wonder?

As we wait for an answer to arrive for image C167, two more images for those members that often miss out on answering images that they recognize. Due to inclusion of the images at perhaps inconvenient times for some, I will in future enter new entries at different times during the day and night to try and accommodate members from both here and overseas..

Ellery Queen Columbia Pictures Series ( 1940 -1942 ) Australian posters.
There were seven Ellery Queen films released by Columbia Pictures from 1940 to 1942. The first four starred Ralph Bellamy as Ellery Queen , then the remaining three had William Gargan playing the role.
- Ellery Queen, Master Detective (1940)
- Ellery Queen’s Penthouse Mystery (1941)
- Ellery Queen and the Perfect Crime (1941)
- Ellery Queen and the Murder Ring (1941)
- A Close Call for Ellery Queen (1942)
- A Desperate Chance for Ellery Queen (1942)
- Enemy Agents Meet Ellery Queen (1942)

As with the other Columbia pictures series, Australian film posters are hard to locate. This has been the most difficult so far of the Columbia Pictures series that I have featured here on the forum to find posters of. Of the seven titles not a single daybill image has been located, and one only Australian one sheet has come to light. The title being Enemy Agents Meet Ellery Queen ( 1942 ) and the last one in the series. This image I only accidentally came across. It was sold in a bulk lot of five posters, and as as such the title isn't listed individually on Bruce's website. I understand the reason behind this practice, but it certainly makes my research into tracking down film titles a little harder to achieve. On saying that I do like a challenge though,

Does anyone per chance have any Australian daybill, one sheet or an extremely unlikely to exist today three sheet images of the series entries that they can share with us here? Low expectation but one never knows.

Re: A Do You Know Your Classic Movies Quiz.
Correct. Interestingly the film won a 1946 Oscar, but was only released in the U.S.A. on April 26, 1947.dedeposter said:C161 - The Cat Concerto (1947). Tom and Jerry, if it had been Warner Bros I would have guessed it quicker!
It won the 1946 Oscar for Best Short Subject: Cartoons. In 1994, it was voted #42 of the 50 Greatest Cartoons of all time by members of the animation field. The short won the duo their fourth consecutive Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film, tied with Walt Disney Productions' musical series, the Silly Symphonies.
The Cat Concerto is the 29th Tom and Jerry animated cartoon. It was released in theaters on April 26, 1947 and was produced by Fred Q uimby and directed by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera. It is considered one of the best Tom and Jerry cartoons ever made, winning the Academy Award for Best Short Subject: Cartoons in the 19th Academy Awards.[1] ( Wikipedia )
What is also of interest here is that the U.S.A. one sheet has no Tom And Jerry credit appearing on it, yet the Australian one sheet does. There is an explanation for this though. Tom And Jerry cartoons from 1940 until part of 1947 didn't have Tom And Jerry's name credit printed on them. Later in 1947 a Tom And Jerry credit then appeared on all of there posters from there on. With most likely a delayed Australian release this would account for the Tom And Jerry name credit being printed on the Australian one sheet.

U.S.A. one sheet and an Australian one sheet.

Re: Snipes
"Dragstrip Riot" one sheet used to advertise "Northville Cemetery Massacre" (1976). How cool is that?
