Re: Rare Australian Posters Of Australian Films

A rare A Princess Comes To Australia ( 1959 ) Australian daybill. This 18 Minute documentary contains highlights of a visit by Princess Alexandra of Kent to Australia in 1959. Shots of the Princess dancing with a young Doug Anthony (later became Deputy Prime Minister) at a Gala function, and a visit to horse racing.
I have noticed two inaccuracies printed on the poster.
The poster has a D.O.I. Production credit appearing on it. The D.O.I. ( Or DOI ) is short for Department Of Information. The problem here is that the Department Of Information was formed in 1939, and was dissolved in 1950, nine years before the film was made and released in Australia. Thanks go to the Sydney office of NFSA ( National Film And Sound Archive Of Australia ) for some assistant. For the record the film was made by the Australian Commonwealth Film Unit.
The second error is that the Universal distributor credit showing on the poster is incorrect for that year. The film company in 1959 was credited as being Universal International

Blood and Flesh is great. I was disappointed in Army of the Dead.

Oki dokie, I think i will give it a go then.HONDO said:There is some graphic visual violence, but the majority of the tension derives from what you know is there but mainly cannot see. Edge of the seat stuff handled with great direction, editing and music score.theartofmovieposters said:I've heard good things but haven't seen it as I don't like horror. Hoe full on in the horror element?
