  • True dat!  The artwork on the rr quad is excellent.  What is the V&A museum?  Is it in London?  My frau and I are doing a one day power visit this weekend (a crazy USO bus offering we couldn't pass up) and if it is, I'll put it on the must do list.

  • I'd agree with the aforementioned Double Bill
  • Lyn, it's the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. The info was on Mike Bloomfield's site. If you get there take a pic.

As much as I still like the Drac has risen poster, .....as we all agree, this would have been the best pick...
    ;)

  • Duh!  Should have known.  Danke schön!  It's at the top of the to do list now.
  • Just keeping the British end up...

    Oh wow, Thunderbirds...real nice.
  • Impressive poster! Never heard of the movie...googling now.
  • Ok Paul, what did you get in exchange for that spare Thunderbirds of yours?
    8->
  • The deal fell through Matias, the guy was a tight arse, so I walked away.

I put the money to getting my Hunchback Quad restored, and bought the A+C meet the Mummy, Blood of the Vampire, and the Murder most Foul Quads.

I'm hoping my Hunch will be back soon, it's in the US at the moment.

    Damn!
  • Tis all part of the game, and a lesson new collectors, and even older ones need to learn. It seems so hard to walk away from a deal, but there are thousands of posters out there, if the price isn't right, there's all those others to choose from, and no doubt the one your after will turn up at some point, and most likely cheaper...

I've only tried a couple, but always go back to Studio C, they offer a jollyfine service. My main worry is sending it to the U.S. and getting it back. As all has went well with them it somehow seems safer/more comfy, plus they always do a first rate job.

I've tried U.K. restorers, but they don't seem to have the quality of the U.S. based fellows.
  • Cheers Paul!
  • Great Underwater!  quad poster but I do love Jane Russell. Talking  about Jane Russell Bruce's The Outlaw 1950 re-issue  is going very well at present  with a bid of $850 last time I looked. This poster would have to be in my top ten of daybill poster designs and leaves the 1946 daybill for dead.

    Hondo

  • Thanks Hondo. Here's a title that's been popular on here of late...

  • Danny hasn't been  in the limelight so much since his heyday.

  • Jenny Agutter was everyone's fav, in another role. Got that Quad Paul?
  • I do have it, but have no pic of it. I'm going to be in the poster room a bit later, I'll see if I can find it and get one just for you David..

poster room....sound luxurious!! I have to clear the dining table and pull then out of a bedroom cupboard... when the little ones are not roaming around...poster room will be on my want list for the next house, it will be competing against my wife's Pilates room ...throw some tips !! :P
  • I also live to see the day that the real estate billboard outside the house for auction has a dedicated icon for poster room..." The house comes with a modern kitchen, open living plan , 2 bathrooms , 3 bedrooms , study and fully equipped poster room"
  • Haha, yes like it. If and when we ever move I'll use that...

The secret is buy a house with extra bedrooms, so there's at least a spare. I have the small bedroom taken over for posters, unfortunately they are spilling over into the linen cupboard, and the Garage...  Fortunately the kids now have their own places, so the linen goes in those rooms. I told Yvonne she can use one of the other rooms as a sewing room, which she has...  Keeps her happy, while I have stuff bursting out of my Poster room into other places...
This seems to only have been a problem since picking up modern stuff, there's a lesson to be learnt there I'm thinking.... :-?
  • Unreal, I can never find anything in there....
