Cheers...I just put them all up next to each other...
  • Very nice David! I like the way Marilyn dominates the poster. The artist drew her & placed the names then thought oops! Title?! Color & font of title looks great against her red dress. :)
  • Don't bother to KNOCKERS
    :P
  • Last one framed - now I need to restock with frames.

  • Hi David looks great! Do the frames allow for easy changing of posters? Is thr poster in loose without any tape? May i ask where you buy these?
  • These frames are from http://www.hollywoodposterframes.com/

You can get them a standard size for daybills (no mat and smaller), and they come with spring (sort of a leaf spring) which you push into the back of the frame and that hold the poster in place.

I get the frame with the mats and I put a small piece of tape (acid free museum) on the poster and tape it to the mat, or if linen then on the linen. The frame are held together with a couple of screws and everything slides in.

So yes, great for quick change on posters.

To remove to posters from the mat is not an issue when on the linen, I just use undu to remove.

Unfortunately the cost to Australia is very expensive. I don't rush to get more too often!

I'll post images of the back/assembly as soon as I get a chance, unless someone else has some images.
  • Thanks david i will check it out, might also have a chat to the local framer and see of he can do something similar.
  • Super rare Spanish SVENGALI (1931) one sheet.  Finally matted, framed and ready to go. imageimage
  • :-bd  Lyn for the win..
  • Great poster! And it has nice First National Vitaphone logo's on the bottoms too! :)>-
  • Unfortunately, the little bug just below that is cropped off the poster itself, a minor groan. Also the image is not square and makes the mat a tad weird.  Kinda Caligari like with a slight forced perspective.
  • =D>
  • Geeze what amazing art Lyn, fantastic looking poster framed.

  • I like the SVENgali ! And of course all that cool horror hanging on the wall!
  • I originally thought it was a Swedish poster for SVEN BY GOLLY.
  • That is stunning, but then I looked at the second picture you posted and my jaw dropped  :-O

    Simply stunning!

  • You know your poster priorities are straight when you put your bookcases in the middle of the room to free up more wall space

I've been building my own bookcases and dvd cabinets with the specs to hang a one sheet as a door ala the pics below.  The SVENGALI will grace the front of the latest bookcase.  And, fear not, the light coming through the glass door is normally blocked by a roller shutter and heavy blue drape.
  • Ves, here's a peek of the wall behind the book cases and the one to the right side.
  • Wow! Great idea to put a one sheet frame as a door! Not that's using space to showcase your pieces! :)>-

  • Panama!

Those posters on the wall are insane!
  • That House of Dracula insert, I can't seem to find that image on the internet. Can you tell us a little bit more about it Lyn? ...besides that fact that it is awesome. :D
  • It's the Realart release as is the one sheet just above the A&C MEET FRANKENSTEIN on the back wall.  IMO superior artwork compared to the original at a fraction of the cost  >:).
