Is Un-Du the exact same as Bestine?

Is Un-Du the exact same as Bestine? We have successfully used Bestine for many years to remove small pieces of tape (ones that are barely hanging on) and for other similar purposes.

We DON'T do any sort of restoration and don't want to!

But the places we have bought Bestine from through the mail will no longer ship it.

I CAN still buy Un-Du through the mail. It SEEMS to be virtually the same as Bestine, but I am asking any restorers here if they feel it is exactly the same, and if not, what the differences are (if any).

Thanks in advance!

  • I am not certain if they are exactly the same but both are Heptane-based.   I have used Un-Du many times with great success!
  • Never used UnDu-but Bestine works really good! Does Missouri not sell it locally? It's available most hardware stores here in AZ. Maybe Charlie has used UnDu? I know he's used Bestine quite often.
  • UnDhu gives great headache...

Un-du works a treat on sticky tape but for really stubborn snipes the poster should be left to soak in water for over an hour.
