Film Poster Shops in Paris

Hello

Apos if this should not be here or if this topic is already covered elsewhere.

I wonder if we could have a place where to share poster shops to visit if we are in town.

I'm going to Paris in October and wondered where to go. I will visit Intemporel  ..any other places?

Thank you!!

  • Hi Sven, thanks, you are better than Sherlock Holmes! Yes, had found two of those, but  you have been more succesul. i wasnt sure if any of you had visited them too. I am curious to go to the one you spotted Library Elbé.
    Thanks a lot!
  • When you come back share lots of pictures of them with us!
  • I know you don't collect them, Rosa - but Dominique Besson's store showing/selling Mondo type prints looks really nice for a browse if you're nearby

  • Hello...I am back! And I really enjoyed visiting again Paris. There are so many wonderful poster shops!!  And exquisite paper. Didn't find the ones I wanted...but had a lot of fun!

Rue Choron  is a must if you are around in Paris

Met  Mr Besson. He had wonderful treasures:

My favourite was "cine-images" Rue Babylone where I was delighted to see a jaw dropping Boris Bilinsky French Grande  (sadly didn't take take a pic) so here is one I grabbed from Google.

This poster is "likely" to end up in the collection of certain US brothers, directors. It was "reserved". So there you go.

I also went to the Elbe Gallery.  I don't think is "worth"  the trip but it only a short walk from "cine-images "

    A stunning poster:

    And finally...if you need a treat...go to

    "L' Homme Tranquille" ....
THE QUIET MAN"  yes....I know...it was a poster/ film focused visit!

I also went to Choko's shop but my phone was dead by then. I took too many pics!

     Thank you for Reading!
  • Wonderful treasures, for sure! Looks like a very enjoyable trip, Rosa! Thanks for sharing the photos, I'd love to go to Paris one day, looks very nice!
  • Wonderful stuff Rosa.

What did you feel about the prices?

Hi David, I found some dealers' prices 'fair' and most were willing to compromise, but some others were really overboard. Overall, if you paid "in cash" the deal was better.

  • Wow, thanks for sharing Rosa!

From what I can see from your pictures film posters were just a small part of their stock?
  • And where are all the Jerry Lewis posters? Don't the French LOVE him?

    =)
