The hunt, that's what it is all about. While this title was being auctioned on HA I picked one up privately elsewhere...and much cheaper. And so, with this addition just one more to go - 12 of 13 titles now in the box.

    The Falcon's Alibi (1946) - US1SH

  • Oh nice!  So close now!  congratulations...

Sublime David...very cool you are so close... B) it will be sweet when you get the last one, display them all here...then begin the hunt to complete another series...
  • After that...The Saint.
  • Are they all US one sheets?

  • Yes they are.

I have always envisaged have all of them framed and all on a wall in a line...but then I realised the wall would have to be about 20 metres/60 feet long...
  • Great pickups Craig and Dave!

Great excuse to buy a new house!
  • Love the falcon David!

Great pickups craig, no doubt at a good price too

The before shot was 3 weeks ago, he's a fast worker and the current heatwave helps! B)

  • Anthony Dale?
  • Sure is. Nice guy, sent him plenty in the past, but he's usually busy with Peter Jackson's impressive Sci-Fi / Horror collection.
  • Is it just the NZ versions of The Third Secret bill that have has the hand clutching scissors removed or is it the same on the Australian version? I just wonder because it's be very well done as if blanked over at source.

  • I have never seen another copy of this Australian daybill. I am wondering if the scissors were printed on the Australian daybill in the first place ? From countless examples shown on the ''We want it scary ... but not too Scary!'' thread, I doubt if the scissors were ever depicted on the Australian daybill in the first place. Love to see an image of the version used in Australia, so if anyone has one please can we see it ?

When I tilt the bill to the light the outline of the scissors is definitely visible, however the printed patch covering them is so well done I wondered if this part was deemed to 'scary' in Australia and censored for both markets before it was shipped to NZ?

I never much liked the original insert artwork, however this simplified black, white and red variation certainly works in a good way!

when I play with the contrast of the image the box is easier to see.

  • I'm really curious now, so hopefully an original daybill with an Australian censorship rating will surface soon.
