Lex's movie posters

Hi,

a newbie here. :) I've been actively collecting movie posters for 7 years but I'm a big Star Wars fan and I've collected all kinds of SW posters among many other items for over 20 years. I've come to a point I pretty much have everything I've wanted but there are some special release posters that I'm still looking for if the price is right. Other than SW, I have almost all 007 posters and all my favorite films. I also collect posters from new movies, recent favorites are Wonder Woman teasers which are still hanging on my wall and La La Land for example. Other franchises I collect include Batman, Pirates of the Caribbean, Jurassic Park etc. Right now I have maybe 5000 posters and most of them are for sale since I'm only keeping what interests me.

Enough talk, here's some pictures of my favorites. These are from 3 years ago so I've gotten more cool stuff since.

These are all roughly A2 size which was the standard until 2000.

  • I'll heartily second that! Great stuff, and interesting spectrum of genres. I'm always partial to the "scantily clad women who make questionable life choices" genre, but all of them are cool! Welcome, Lex!
  • Welcome, Lex!

Fantastic assemblage of posters! Agreed, great variety! Looking forward to seeing more of your inventory!
  • Great stuff.  I've never seen that BTTF one with Biff's car.
  • Beautiful vintage movie posters Lex. If you interest Star Wars Turkish movie posters you can message to me
  • Love the King Kong and other horror ones. All finnish?

  • Wow even got Audrey amongst all that sci fi and horrors goodies.

    Oh and Welcome Lex!

  • Welcome.  Nice bunch of posters, alot I haven't seen before!
  • Thanks, guys! :)

Yes, I collect only Finnish posters or international posters that have been used here (mostly they are new ones but some vintage stuff too, they're larger than these).

Hmm, maybe. :) My only problem is like most here, the lack of wall space... But I'll keep it in mind! I'm collecting on a budget, so there's that which also constrains me to buy non-Finnish stuff.

Yup, I have others too but that one is a classic and a keeper, the rest are extras. I must confess, I haven't seen any of her movies which is a shame as I'd really like to see Breakfast at Tiffany's. They just don't show her movies here on TV. :( Actually I haven't seen probably half of the films in these posters, just love the art.

I'll have to take some new pics at some point. :)
  • Here's some more, sorry about the utterly classless photos which I took in the dark.

    Wonder wall

Huge JW logo from the theatrical display, I really like it.

I could post my new findings in this thread, these were all just quickies.

I have 3000 extra vintage posters (194x-199x) which are all individually photographed so if anyone is interested in seeing some titles, you can always ask. :) Or if you're looking any Finnish posters to buy, feel free to hit me up.
  • Nice SciFi collection, your Bonds are great!
  • Great collection, congratulations Lex
  • Nice SciFi collection, your Bonds are great!
Thanks. :) I'm still missing the TLD teaser and Bond festival number 1... For some I have multiples from different releases, I think I have 4 Goldfingers for example. Only difference is the distributor's logo and paper quality.

Here's a bus shelter poster I picked up recently, it took some  convincing to get it. :) It's for the upcoming concert next fall, can't wait for it!

The picture is taken outside but I do have an appropriate light-up frame for it. I have now over 10 different SW bus shelter posters to switch, here's what's framed up now:

  • Best of Ava Gardner (probably not going to keep these though).

  • Best of recently sold ones.

  • How to Steal a Mill....now that's cool!
  • Nice!

It was nice but meant nothing to me so I let it go... Got whole $30 for it, meh.
  • Zowie!  Super great stuff. Thanks for posting. Welcome aboard. I'm fairly new here as well....less than a year. This is a great place to be. CHEERS!
  • Thanks guys! :)

    Best of Jane Fonda (non-Barbarella):

And again some favorites of recently soldies:

  • Hey now, those Fonda posters are fun! Great color & artwork!
  • Yeah, I really like those!

Most posters here are plain ugly, and I mean it. Finland was a poor country after the war so most posters were so cheaply put together from a few still photos and had only one color or some sort of red/green combo. For every great poster there are at least 100 ugly ones. I've been watching this forum for a while even before I registered and I'm amazed how colorful posters there were even in 1910s when we mostly had just plain text and a photo almost until the 50s. It only became more common to use actual provided poster art probably somewhere in the late 60s/early 70s.
  • Again some of my favorites from the ones I've recently sold: :)

  • Loving the Wonder Woman display, I've got a few of those myself. Sadly my other half isn't to keen on me putting them up.. can't see why...

  • Yes, I have those three posters as well... That set was my other choice and I'll probably change them at some point. In the order of Courage - Power - Wonder. I just don't have an extra Wonder - stupid me for getting only one when a theatre was giving them away. My frames aren't international size so the posters are higher than the frames...
I don't know why there would be resistance for putting those up, either. :) I really liked the WW poster campaign (except for the theatrical one, that's just boring).
  • Awesome Lex!
  • Loving the Wonder Woman display, I've got a few of those myself. Sadly my other half isn't to keen on me putting them up.. can't see why...

Really?  I explicitly bought them for my little girls room.  Girls can be superheroes too...
  • Gal Gadot makes him and many others happy...

  • Many.. many others I'm sure.
  • Found the last missing 007 poster today. It isn't perfect but finding it in person made me buy it. Almost walked by it because of its high price but got it at a more reasonable price when I returned to the seller 5 hours later.
