The Love Bug Daybill

edited January 2019 in Dating the Poster
This daybill is often described as a reissue but I actually think it is more likely to be the original first release. The fact that a daybill is not full colour or not as impressive as later releases doesnt necessarily mean it is not original. There seem to be a lot of different versions of this daybill. I would be interested in what you all think  ….

  • Interesting it has the MGM logo and the full colour version doesn't. The rating and the printers name has the right font for 1969.
  • If only we had a real daybill expert here to give us his opinion!

  • I think the MGM logo on the daybill I have pictured is significant.

You'll have to share what he tells you in a PM.  I suppose we will have to institute a new rule about periodic posting to get him off his high horse.  Although, I do think John is real daybill expert too.

Let’s not get too carried away. It’s been like one of those return to nature kind of breaks - away from the hustle and bustle of Hondo’s drama. Birds chirping, a young deer running out as you enjoy the fresh air and warm sun... I am both looking forward to his return and a little worried nothing will have changed.
  • It would be nice to hear Hondo's thoughts but there are others here who also might have an opinion.
  • John, you are certainly the most knowledgeable person I know about daybills, with the exception of one person, who seems to have devoted a good chunk of his life to researching them.
