  • Picked this nice French large poster for the 4K restoration of escape from New York.
  • Very cool!  B)
  • Nice one Ryan!
  • I'm back again, with a small assortment of oddities. First (and not only isn't it particularly odd, you've pretty much seen this image plenty already, but I assure you this is a different poster) is a half sheet for a title you've seen a lot from me lately. Feel free to yawn.

Cripes, that's huge. I was just trying to solve the problem I had last time of partial images, but the pendulum seems to have swung way in the other direction. Sorry. Still not sure how to remedy things. Anyhow, next up is a handbill/herald/flyer thingy for Escort Girl. The paper is definitely old and fragile, but I can't say exactly what year it's from. I looked up what years in the past had May 5th on a Monday, but through the late 40's and 50's, there's a good handful. It measures 9x12 inches, and is probably the only genuine-ish thing I'll get my paws on for this title.

Good heavens, I've stumbled into the land of giant images. Good thing I'm not posting any 6 sheets. All our computers would crash. Sheesh. Last up is kind of a new one on me. I was looking through the book "Grindhouse - The Forbidden World of Adults Only Cinema", and these (actually just the sex facts for women - i'm not sure where the nudism one would've been distributed) were kind of an aside in the section about Kroger Babb. It would seem that a self proclaimed "sexologist" named Elliot Forbes (real name Moe Schwartz) would lecture and hand out/sell these booklets during the middle of Babb's "hygiene" films, Such as Mom and Dad. The copyright date on the nudism one is 1935, and the other is 1936.

That's it for now. I've got a handful of posters on the auction watch list for this weekend, so we'll see what happens.

Facts about Nudism. Something we don't know?
  • I’ll give it a read and get back to you.  :)
  • Good almost afternoon, and happy Sunday to those that share my time zone. Just a quickie post from me, but mentionable for a couple reasons. The most important is that now I can be part of the cool kids poster club, cuz I have one of these. It used to be that getting your name in the phone book made you somebody (like Steve Martin/Navin Johnson in The Jerk), but now that phone books have all but vanished, being "somebody" requires one o' these. The second reason is that it's provenance is of high pedigree, coming from the collection of some grumpy old guy from Victoria who's short on words but quite extensive on posters. Thanks again, mate.  :)

  • :)

It's a definite must have for any poster connoisseur!
  • Damn that’s nice! Your burning up this place, Rock! Great snag! Am I now the only regular wo one of these beauties?! ;)
  • Rock dont stop!
  • Escort girls and the books rock the rocknroll, Rock!
  • And that haunted daybill is certainly amazing!
  • Thanks much, guys. Hopefully somebody else has something to post here soon. I feel like I’m hogging the thread.  :(
(and I already have more stuff to post)
  • Give me 3 days
  • Here's one of my favorite rock'n'roll images

Image may contain 3 people people standing
  • Now that’s what I’m talkin’ ‘bout! Me likey!
  • Cool Rick, well done! Is it a half sheet or title lobby? (Half sheet i think)
  • half sheet. My favorite record store in Melbourne had the insert on the wall. I tried for years to get the owner to sell it without success. I've bid a few times on the insert so was happy to get this one.
  • I'm going to slip a couple in here, because including these, I have 8 to post. I'll stay with Rick's theme of hepcats, kittens, cars and trouble.  B)

Teen Age Thunder 1 sheet. In terms of hot rod images, it's not as good as the half sheet, but still good to have:

And I stumbled across an inexpensive Mex lobby for Teenage Crime Wave. It has some of the desirable elements from the US half sheet (which I have not managed to score yet), and overall a better composition than the US title lobby:

  • Congrats Rock! Teenage thunder looks to be in very nice, ckean condition. Great images on the lobby card too.
  • nice theme Rock

Just rollin’ along with your awesome half sheet!
  • Not much compared to Rock's, my only poster newbie Tarzan's Peril half sheet. I did get a good auction pick up with some old photos - 1920's mostly Tom Mix related, 210 in all.

  • No need for comparison, as any of this stuff that makes us happy as individuals is unquestionably worth the price of admission. Tarzan stuff is always awesome, and black and white photos look really great framed. Well done on both counts! Hopefully you’ll post some of your favorites out of the photos.  :)
  • At the risk of hogging the thread, but because the forum is still oddly slow, I'm going to let loose with a few more, as this past weekend wound up being pretty busy with poster acquisitions. Today it's more THREE-DEE stuff. The first two titles I think I have as inserts already, but the last one I don't have in any format, so I'm happy to have it. All have condition issues, but I'm okay with that.  :)

charge at feather river 1 sheet

    moonlighter 1 sheet

    devils canyon 1 sheet

Stay tuned, there's more to come!  B)B)
  • Hog away, Rock! Those are some really nice 3-D posters!

Really liking Feather River and bottom artwork on Devils Canyon.

But Rock, I cant find the damsel in Feather River?....?
  • It must be a manly movie about manly men doing manly things in the wild west. No time for zee wimnins when you’re fighting it out in the middle of the desert.
There’s definitely more femmes on the way with the other February acquisitions.  :)

    Excellent....excellent....?
  • There is no such thing as hogging an acquisition thread!

Now that I have a tracking number, I don’t think I’ll jinx it.  I’ve managed to find a National Velvet OS.  Been wanting this one for a while... Goes well with my Aussie version.
