    Wow
  • Thanks Guys.

The posters aren't hanging Matias, they are just in sleeves. The beauty is, I can stand them all over, in front of the Telly, on the landing, on the Plan chests, and when done they go back in the pile...
  • A couple of recentish ones...

Thanks Chaps, though I did forget the one above my fire-place ...  Yes this one is framed and up in the front room.

I do think one of the, if not the best Quad poster ever

This is astounding. Not to mention the seeming fine condition. Thank you for sharing it.
May I ask, Paul, have you ever seen or possessed an original 1958 -or- 1960 Style C re-issue DRACULA quad? I've only seen one at auction which slipped past me.
  • Thanks Naomi, unfortunately I don't have the Main 58 Quad, it was always just out of reach, I have seen it more times that you would think, it's amazing up close.

I do have the 58 Text version, which is  very nice, and the 1960 one you refer to, is it the white version?  I've always had this down as 63, and yes I have this one also.

I'll post some pics when I get home from work, just going out the door...
  • where's the swoon emoticon!
  • I don't know which is more impressive, the art and vibrant color of the posters or your ability to call on such rarities at will! Thank you, Paul, for sharing. It feels a bit like opening a gift simply seeing the photos. Just beautiful.

The second photo, yes, white with Lee reaching, is what I understand to be a 1960 style C. This was told me by an English seller many years ago and have heard collectors refer to it as '60 but I've come to know poster dating can be a bit precarious. I could be mistaken on the date.
  • Thanks for the kind words, could I ask who who the English seller was who gave you the info?

U.K. poster are very difficult to date, but not impossible. In my younger days I thought the white version was from the first release, as it's the same artwork as the UK 1Sht from the 58 release. A lot of people do refer to it as 60's, as they do now know it's a re-release, but aren't sure of the exact date...  When you say style C, it implies that there were 2 other posters for this 63 release, which I would love to be true, but it's only the one as far as I know.

I think where the English person has the info mixed is, there are 3 main Quad posters for the film, but from 2 different releases..   Hope this helps somewhat.
  • Awesome as always Paul!
  • Thanks Chris..

  • To Paul; the first time I laid eyes on the 60's DRACULA re-issue was in my monthly copy of MCW (which very sadly ceased publishing in 2012 as I enjoyed MCW as much as the posters themselves).
    .
The English seller who placed the classified described the white quad as "1958 DRACULA '60 Re-issue Style C". This was 1992 so I do not recall the seller's full name though I do still have the note card I jotted-on while speaking with the seller by phone. I simply noted: "Simon" followed by "Hamm DRAC ('58) Re-issue '60 Style C".

That was the seller's description in the ad and by phone but could, as ever, be mistaken. I made the mistake of passing on that poster, of course; one of countless posters in MCW I'd love to time-warp back to and up my offer on.
  • I came across this more recent, similar labeling of the poster on Briz' collector site though, again, could be mistaken (the light brown border of the poster is tape).
