The Tweed Smut Linebacking Experiment
Hi All,
I am ashamed to say I have been stalking many of the Linebacking posts on this site since 2021, but am only now getting my act together to initiate a photo-based narrative of my yet-to-be mishaps, experiments, trials, errors, and (hopefully) successes. Obviously, Charlie and Eisenhower's threads have been huge sources of inspiration for me, which I have read and re-read ad infinitum. I am also working my way through the book and paper materials online, and will try not to ask questions which are explained in detail within these sources, or questions which have already been asked/answered on this forum
I fell in love with Linebacking when I purchased three great old travel posters back when I lived in LA in 2021. I have since experimented around with mixing paste, applying masa to stretched canvas, and some of the basics. I would like to document my journey, get all the feedback I can, and really delve into practical/theoretical/ethical questions regarding conservation and preservation when it comes to posters and other ephemera.
I hope this new thread can cover some interesting ground, and even get some more people into the hobby.
Looking forward to updating you very soon with Project (read: hazing) Number-01 :-)
