     X22
Let's see if we can have some luck with having this one identified.
  • My first thought was...I know this, but need to narrow it down. It's obviously somebody going out to bomb a creature (it's the 50s, what else would it be?). Searched high and low and settled on Tarantula (1955), and that has to be Clint Eastwood (which no doubt would have featured in one of your clues)

A Correct answer for X22. Admirably worked out. Tarantula from 1955. An early small role for Clint Eastwood.

  • At first I was thinking THEM!, but had to look elsewhere.

I have seen these films and they are both well made and above average productions.

Three known faces are presented above for you to ponder on as to who they are, along with the name of the films of course.

There is something in common that connects these two films.

To me having viewed this film I think from memory  that the above  scene provided the only genuine shock that occurred  in the film.

  • A clue for the yet unanswered  X26 is France.
  • murder in the rue morgue?  taking a stab at it after your france clue
  • murder in the rue morgue?  taking a stab at it after your france clue
Unfortunately not either the 1932 or the 1971 versions of Murders in The Rue Morgue, but oh so close..
  • Ok so I googled rue morgue film titles...Phantom of the Rue Morgue?
  • Ok so I googled rue morgue film titles...Phantom of the Rue Morgue?
X26 is indeed Phantom Of The Rue Morgue from 1954.

As mentioned earlier the scene originally posted was of a dead woman hanging upside down, and the preceding happening was the only genuine shock in the whole film. The woman had suddenly dropped down the opening over the fireplace.

It isn't that film but it is actually a good guess, and you have worked out the correct producer. This unidentified film isn't a serial though, and is  altogether a different genre of film. This film had some initial problems in Australia.
