C486 answer is The Naked Jungle from 1954. It certainly proved to be a difficult one to find the answer for. I had thought that my South American and plague clues would have helped.
Another clue for C489 is considered one of the director's best films. I had thought that this image would have been easily recognised.
Another clue for C490 is the actor appearing in the motor vehicle was earlier in his career attacked while filming on a film set by an animal and almost died from the injury that he received.
c490 Brute Force...after a little help from google.
Correct. Well done anyway. Brute Force from 1947.
The actor in the posted image and that my clues referred to is Charles Bickford, One clue was for his work in Duel in The Sun (1946) and the Big Country (1958), and the television series The Virginian in the 1960s. He died November 9, 1967 and had appeared in 46 episodes of The Virginian that were released from 1962 to 1968.
The other clue referred to Charles Bickford being attacked by a ''tame'' lion during the filming of East of Java (1931). The mauling footage from the film was used in the film's promotion.
I believe C492 is The Garden of the Finzi-Continis. I thought Shoeshine and Bicycle Thieves were two of the very best movies I ever saw, but I had trouble with this, likely because it was SO long and slow paced.
But what do I know? I had the same problem with David Lean's Lawrence of Arabia, and everyone else thinks it a masterpiece!

Correct. The Garden Of the Finzi-Continis from 1970. I have to disagree with Bruce as I do think this Italian film to be an excellently crafted classic.
When I screened the film at the film society that I was once involved in, the below Australian daybill that was being displayed in the theatre foyer was removed after the screening and taken away by someone who obviously liked this film. The only time that a poster was ever taken after a screening,
I do thoroughly agree with Bruce though about Lawrence Of Arabia. This film is much, much too long in duration and I personally wouldn't call it a masterpiece.
