I aways thought John Davis was originally at Studio C  ?  And left to form Poster Mountain...
Yes.  The numbering system starts with the parent 3. Is Studio C. Poster Mountain is 3.2.  Maybe I should change to letters...
  • Thanks Charlie

    Argelia Cueva
works with Mario. And for what I know she too does resto work.

Numbering system works-4th Cone left PM to form. Total of 8 groups grew off of Joe Hernandez (Studio C)

---although my question is---how good is Ian at M&W Graphics if the now legendary Chris Cloutier resulted... ;)
  • How come Igor Edleman didnt make lots of restorer offspring?

Numbering system is fine but I think you should also use hyphens it will be easier to pick up the tree line eg

    1.       Igor Edleman (Edelman Restoration Studio) (Now run by Lena and Lara - not sure who the apprentice is, Rufat?)

-1.1.    Mario Cueva (Lumiere Poster Restoration)

    --1.1.1 Someone named Vilad???

    2.       Jim Sanchez

    3.       Joe Hernandez (Studio C)

-3.1.    Judy Jones (The Poster Patch)

    -3.2.    John Davis (Poster Mountain)

    --3.2.1. Melissa, Katie, & Chelsea (4th Cone)

  • Or instead of hyphens he could use bullet points or simply indent like the rest of us... B)
  • Except that is not how one does genealogy...
  • What does this mean:

"3.7.    Diane Jeffrey (Studio C) – Diane beca"

Here is a handy checklist to help tell eMoviePoster.com apart from all other major auctions!
HAS lifetime guarantees on every item - IS eMoviePoster.com
HAS unrestored and unenhanced images - IS eMoviePoster.com
HAS 100% honest condition descriptions - IS eMoviePoster.com
HAS auctions where the winner is the higher of two real bidders - IS eMoviePoster.com
HAS "buyers premiums" - NOT eMoviePoster.com
HAS "reserves or starts over $1 - NOT eMoviePoster.com
HAS hidden bidder IDs - NOT eMoviePoster.com
HAS no customer service to speak of - NOT eMoviePoster.com
HAS "nosebleed" shipping charges - NOT eMoviePoster.com
HAS inadequate packaging - NOT eMoviePoster.com

  • I think it is suppose to say Diane Became...  Let me look at the older posts.
  • Yep.. You had said "Diane J became partners with Joe in Studio C a few years after it began, and then she bought him out and owns it completely"
  • We need to update:

    1. Anybody know this guy’s history - https://www.posterconservation.com/
supposedly he is not a nice guy to work
for. I also love how they state being so awesome but never offer a degree in conservation.

    2. Posternest - likely no academic training.

    3. I’ll have to see if we added the Katy, TX guy.

    4. Bee Easy service - doubt any academic training there either.

    Any other new ones?
  • Found more on Poster Conservation.   Lee Milazzo: Parsons School of Design Dropout; Started (presumably trained by a restorer) in Brooklyn...

From Fairfield County Business Journal (2009): "I've been doing restoration for about 15 years now," said Lee Milazzo, co-owner and founder of Samuel Owen Gallery in Stamford. "I started in Brooklyn while working in a gallery in SoHo when I was in art school at Parsons School of Design."

Milazzo dropped out of Parsons and worked at the gallery full time, developing methods in the restoration of vintage posters. He would eventually stamp the business as his own as Poster Restoration Inc."

NOW who do we know from Brooklyn? Was Lee Milazzo trained by none other than Chris Cloutier of Posterfix???
  • Looks like Bee Easy is a spin off of the Katy, TX restorer.

Ben started collecting and restoring vintage paper in 2012 after his EAS from the Marine Corps. What started as a part-time job to get through college, quickly turned into a passion of preservation. He apprenticed with a studio in Katy,TX for 6 years learning how to safely clean and linen back vintage posters. Now located in Colorado, Ben works as a Paramedic/Conservator and spends his free time rock climbing, hiking, and building his collections.
