Great story Mark, the journey! Making the effort as a present. Well done Sue!
What a happy ending ! -
@Charlie
Am i right that the process of linen backing would expand the paper fibres and weaken the paper? Obviously linen would provide support.
Bruce has lots of customers that dont go near ebay i suspectJust saw Teds! Cool paper bro! Beast with.5 fingers...hell yeah!Gorgeous paper Paul!Hey Will ! Frustrating. I would probably want it rebacked free of charge. I sent posters back to the states before and the restorer has been accommodating ( they also paid postage)
But lets wait for in April 2017 Comment by Sven April 2017That was surprising. At least check the bd history to see where the 3rd underbidder took it to! $9.99 ! Bargain hunter strikes again!
The superman did well alsoNice to see u post again David! Missed ya!Visiting moviemen.com.JR away...picking up a new colllection!! This man is on fire! Our wallets to become lighter againLovely Jay! Nice condition too! What a great way to easily enjoy these lobbys!Bloody hell that is scary, oh dear Rosa, i would need a medic.
I could not make out the first picture, i thought it was a slice of bread with chocolate sauce
Its a beautiful locandina! Bogart and Bacall look fantastic! Well don…I'm still suprised the hobby is small, i mean most people enjoy movies.
For me it was two events that drew me into the hobby 1) colleague at work bought a vintage travel poster. I wanted something for the house so i made my first vintage…I dont know where to start or end Ves, magnificent arrangement! The Martin Lewis wall put a smile on my face. The Shirley temples look perfect! And the rest! Nice to see college framedin Recent hangings... Comment by Sven April 2017
Fantastic Mark! Another one to be proud of! Luv the Artwork and colours
Regarding new lighting, is it me or its a little darker down the bottom and brighter at the top?Well jay you've given yourself another restoration project! Good on you for being brave to do it in the first place.
Btw love Blue Hawaii paper! Elvis, Hawaii, blue sea, ...always makes me feel good!!I dont worry about border wear , chips or light stains as i have confidence most restorers can address, but then i would not back it if these are the only issuesi would be concerned with the quality of paper...will it survive the wash, will the person be on the ball and be able to rescue it from the wash
If artwork needs to be restored i want to have confidence in their ability to recreate…Wow one moment a love story...next the great escape! I wonder why such different interpretationsI was not aware of this sale back in 2011.... big posters..big titles
http://geektyrant.com/news/2011/3/9/7-old…Really love the kwai Mark! Nice job!
Do you think you are weeks, months or year plus to tackle the winchester 73 locandina?(Quote)
Not really for stolen scenario but for lost. Sometimes the customs declaration is the only place where address information is present. Some customs declarations are placed in plastic sleeves which may be removed for custo…Red hair is nice!Of course if someone is in the know at the local post office or courier and they like posters..hard one..except change the courier once burnt..as chris says game of chance but we do what we can to reduce the riskMy 2 cents
Declare low value
Declare as printed adverting paper
Send express with signature
Attach 2 x from/to address labels with telephone numbers
As Charlie said re restorers or just only use their full nameCheers boys. Gives me some comfort how i have stored them. They are rolled up fairly small in boxes, so no weight on topCheck out the picture in the ebay ad. The poster has roll bends from being stored rolled for a long time? I have some one sheets stored rolled, so got worried this will happen to mine.
Do any members here store one sheets rolled for a long …
