  • Without looking anything up, and solely going on the images, I would guess Deanna Durbin and Sonya Heine.

I know I am likely wrong on both, but even a blind squirrel finds an acorn once in a blue moon.

  • Sonja Henie ( we'll forgive the spelling ) is correct and I didn't know how to spell her name correctlly until I checked. The film is It's A Pleasure ( 1945 ). Very good effort.

Deanna Durbin Is incorrect though but a good try.

  • Joan Bennett; The Woman on the Beach (1947)

  • Joan Bennett in The Woman On The Beach ( 1947 ) is correct. Joan had a famous older actress sister Constance in films as well.
  • The film also starred Irene Ryan, better known as Granny from The Beverly Hillbillies
  • Irene Ryan who played Buddy Ebsen's mother-in-law  on The Beverly Hillbillies ( 1962 ) was in  real life only six years older than Ebsen.

I understand they marry quite young in the south...
  •                  Two more actresses in the 1940s.
  • The one on the right looks like Ann Southern. The one on the left kind of looks like Clair Trevor.

Ann Sothern  in Maisie Goes To Reno ( 1944)

Claire Trevor in The Woman Of The Town ( 1943 )

  •                                                                                                                                                                                                 Changing nationalities.
  • Joan Fontaine?

  • Not Joan Fontaine. This is a difficult one I would think so a few clues.

Classic horror, politics, & sex. If I say anymore I will give it away if I haven't all ready done so.

  • Valerie Hobson - the film is Blanche Fury (1948).

    1. I like the beautiful actresses
    2. The poster passed through my hands a while back.
  • Valerie Hobson always catches my eye too

                    Another image to identify..

  • Very good likeness of Joan Bennett? I don't know the movie but due to the quality of the art I'm guessing it's a WE Smith daybill
  •                                                                                                                                                                                             Hollow Triumph ( aka The Scar. ( 1948 ).

Yes Joan Bennett & W.E. Smith are correct. Borrowed the image from John.

  • Its one of the great Film Noirs - well worth a look. There is one particularly great scene which shows what a great actress Joan Bennett was. It was also released as The Scar and The Man Who Murdered Himself.
  •                                                                                                                                                                                                One more.

  • Joan again The Reckless Moment
  • Yes Joan Bennett in The Reckless Moment ( 1949 ). The chin and partial face belong to James Mason.
  •                                                                                                                                                                                              Not Joan Bennett this time.
  • Clue for above - Under contract at Universal in the 1940s.
  • I am sure it will be some persons destiny to guess the actresses name.
  • Those clues gave it away, but I would never have recognized her! Gloria Jean.

  •                                                                                                                                                                                  Good work Bruce. It is indeed Gloria Jean in Destiny ( 1944 ). I thought a nice photograph of her wouldn't go astray.

  •                                                                                                                                                                                            This image certainly doesn't do the actress justice.
