Abominable Dr Phibes

Saw this one the other day, hadn't seen it before so I didn't realise there were two styles.

Anyone seen or have this one?

The first of The Abominable Dr. Phibes ( 1971 ) daybills, with the Not Suitable For Children rating, was printed for the Australian theatrical release which would have occured sometime in the latter part of 1971 and before December, 1971. The second dabill with the NRC rating on it would have had to been printed sometime after November, 1971 when NRC replaced the Not Suitable For Children rating in Australia. The second style is rare.
  • My two cents:

I have two copies of the RR daybill and, like the one pictured, both show a very offset print with the LH margin being far smaller than the RH margin.

Combined with the Roadshow 2 colour treatment, my view is that the blue / white RR was probably (hurriedly) done about time time the sequel was released (late 1972).
  • Thanks muchly.  Will have to keep my peepers out for the blue one!
