How The Mighty Have Fallen

So, going through a collection of about 1,000 posters (headache country) and come across a DS Teaser for Spiderman (2002)...I look carefully into his eyes, he looks back at me, there it is, the Twin Towers. I remember years ago this poster going for few good shekels , so I hunt it out.

In 2007, selling at auction for around US$300, 10 years later around US$75.

Bugger.

Then to add salt to the wound...no taxi. Grrrreat.

Comments

  • If I recall correctly, there were a whole bunch of repros too...
  • Oh I see you mentioned that taxi...nevermind!
  • I don't usually have a lot of modern ones but was surprised to see double sided repro. Annoying.
  • I think I actually have one somewhere...the repro I mean.  I should try to find it!

Do they still repro these days?

  • Mine went in the bin...theartofmovieposters said:

    Meaning?
  • I mean do they still bother making reproduction posters of the modern releases?  Ie.  Do we still get fake movie posters today?
  • I've never looked at a modern poster for sale but I would imagine so.
  • define fake.  I see prints for sale all the time for prints from modern films where the poster was never released, or where the report is available well before.  Often billed as Thai posters or the like, even though they are obvious prints from the high res jpegs.
  • So I put a WTB request on MOPO for a Black Swan art deco poster. I paid $50 for it in round one. Now one seller wants $625 for it ($2500 full set)
    !

  • Are these the prints or the double sided ones?
  • Some mighties fall and others go up!

I guess I was thinking more where they do it trying to pass them off as original.

I like the new strategy they seem to be adopting rather than trying to convince everyone they are original US release...we now have Thai... :)
