Frankenstein Meets The Wolf Man

Frankenstein Meets The Wolf Man ( 1943 ) Australian daybill and an Australian newspaper advertisement for the film in 1943.

Three re-release daybill poster with different colour variations of the same design. Are there any others?

A Newspaper advertisement placed for a 1963 screening in Canberra, ACT.  O.k. then, is there something not right about this advert?

Comments

  • Was it released in 43 in Australia?

It never got a UK release until 46..

The two monters fighting is original material from the 1943 film.

Is the Frankenstein monster's image of Bela Lugosi or perhaps Boris Karloff or Glenn Strange borrowed from different films?

Is the woman's image from the film? I think not as her dress is too modern.

    Your thoughts please?
  • Frankie image from Ghost of Frankenstein perhaps?
  • I can see what Ves means, but it is Glen, same image was used for the Pictorial history of Horror movies cover.

I was leaning towards it being Glen Strange. I wonder which of the three films Glenn played the Frankenstein Monster the image was copied from? Was is House Of Frankenstein, House Of Dracula or Abbott And Costello Meet Frankenstein ( aka Abbot And Costello Meet The Ghosts in Australia )?

The exposed actress looks like Hazel Court but that doesn't seem to be the case as far as I can see.
  • It's from A+C meet Frankenstein, it was originally called meet the ghosts here too..

I'd post some pics, but not having a lot of luck with that.

As for he girl, it does have a look of Hazel, but I'm sure I've seen it somewhere...

The female image is an alternative image replacement for another 1963 re-release newspaper advertisement that is similar to the above one with the fighting monsters, but minus altogether the single Frankenstein's monster image. The female image appearing on the other advertisement is Elena Verdugo playing Ilonka in a pose from the 1944 film House Of Frankenstein. Why the change from  suitable looking 1940's material to the above more modern image is anyone's guess. Sorry no image at this time, but hopefully later on.
