How to properly mat movie posters?

I am in the process of framing my original movie posters and am onto figuring out how to properly mat.

What's the best way to go about matting posters that don't have lots of white space on the borders or empty space to play with? For example the white border on this Star Wars poster lets the mat overlap onto the poster without losing any of the poster's image. I have a lot of posters without white borders so I'm not sure how to mat them, any advice is greatly appreciated.

I use spotlight displays and the snap edges do a great job without any matting.  I recently had an italian 2f framed and didnt ask for mat. Framer do have these spacers they can use and I have had them put on prints that I have framed.

Else, for linenbacked posters I have them leave a little white showing.
