Edge of the City Aussie One sheet for the Poitier collection

Comments

  • Nice poster image Ves.

The film was originally released in Australia in 1957 with the title of A Man Is Ten Feet Tall.

     ( John )

Due to the huge popularity of Sidney Poiter in the late 1960's the film was re-released in Australia, commencing in Sydney at the Liberty Theatre in 1968 as a Sidney Poitier double of Edge Of The City and Blackboard Jungle.

Following the Sydney release it had limited screenings over the next few years in Australia booked as a supporting film.
  • So for the re release you think?

    I certainly believe so.
  • I have my db for edge of the city listed as a 67 re-release so I think I knew that just forgot... anyone have the original release one sheet?  I dont think I've seen one.  DB yes, OS no...assume its identical to the db...

I have never sighted an Australian one sheet of A Man Is Ten Feet Tall, and currently I cannot locate one.

A busy last couple of months with a trip to Lake Como and just prepping for Tokyo. However, I did find time to add another 30 or so to my permanent pre-war collection.

US One Sheet pairs for the 1927 Monty Banks production 'Play Safe' and 1928 'Companionate Marriage'.

  • Beautiful posters. You certainly do know where to find them. Well done.

  • Plus a few more 3 Sheets.

    The Vampire Bat (1933)
