1925 Gold Rush Charlie Chaplin Movie Poster
Hi Everyone,
I just purchased this poster and would love to hear thoughts on it. Lady I purchased it off said her father use to work at the Palais Theater in Melbourne and acquired it in the 70's. From my research the Phillip brothers owned the Palais and the Capital theater. The movie premiered at the Capital theater on 1st May 1926 and was hugely popular. I believe this poster may have been commissioned by the brothers at the time and looking at it, Brunswick records may have paid for some of the costs as well. I can not find another anywhere that looks the same. Maybe someone has another and can confirm.
The poster is in 4 sections a-fixed to backing board.
