For Sale...Japanese Posters
I get offered posters and collections from time to time, often people are looking for an Antique Roadshow moment when they contact me. Just recently I was offered quite a few Japanese movie posters, by quite a few I mean 25,000 of them...!
What the?!
There were multiples across many years (by muliples, in some cases 100+) and it would take a lifetime of Sundays to shift them and so really I wasn't interested, specially when he told me he had been looking on the internet...and supplied a snapshot list (170 titles, over 7,000 poster) with accompanying prices which was based on the retail prices he had uncovered. My guess he was looking for big six figures...
We didn't even discuss price, I politely told him I simply wasn't interested due to the volume he had (he was looking to job the lot).
