The Competition

Head to Head
Random Seeding
Winner is decided by VMPF member polling: See Example: http://vintagemoviepostersforum.com/discussion/785/voting-example

Format for Weeks 1 through 6

Four posters vs. four posters – from a set of six categories each week
Participants can only use a poster once
YOU MUST OWN THE POSTERS OF IMAGES YOU SUBMIT

First three categories are generic and are the same each week
Actor, Actress, and Director (Any poster qualifies)
Participants can only use an Actor/Actress/Director Once
If Actor/Actress is also Director the person can be used twice
Actress/Actor/Director restrictions do not apply to specialized categories (i.e. you can only use Marilyn once but use a French poster with Marilyn in the specialized categories)

Remaining 3 specialized categories change each week (Period, Genre, Origin|Pick One)
Week 1 – 1960s, Horror, or Japanese/German/US Insert
Week 2 – 2000s, Comedy, or Czech/Argentinian/Italian/US 6SHT
Week 3 – 1940s, Romance, or French/Spanish/Polish/Lobby
Week 4 – 1980s, Noir, or Thai/Yugo/Indian/US Half
Week 5 – 1970s, Documentary, or Australian/Belgian/Still Photo (Two rounds with these categories if in Loser's Bracket)
Week 6 – 1950s, Scifi, or US OS/Quad

Categories are designed to accommodate all sizes of collections; basically every collector should be able to post three from the generic categories and one from the specialized categories.

Format for Week 7 (Finals)

Six Best vs. Six Best
Posters from previous rounds can be used.
YOU MUST OWN THE POSTERS OF IMAGES YOU SUBMIT

If you are not wanting to play because the rules are confusing, I will be happy to talk you through it.  Just PM me... - Charlie

This Vintage Movie Poster Forum is powered by some old cinema posters, the flame retardant properties of a Top Gun Daybill, and a
British Quad which has been folded just the right amount of times and shoved under one of the corners to stop the place from wobbling.
