Classifications and dates in Australia

This from my hand written scrawls from many moons ago.

Unfortunately I don't have the reference details of where I got them from...but they might be helpful.

When I get a chance I will try to find the original source material and try to better make out the scrawls in my margins which might be pointers...I would have written the sources somewhere...


1928:

All picture films shall be graded by the censorship board and marked suitable for "Universal Exhibition" when considered so


1930:

For General Exhibition

Not Suitable for children


1935:

Suitable only for Adults


1949:

SOA - Suitable only for Adults

NRC - Not recommended for Children

G - general


1971:

R - Persons between 6-18 years not admitted

M - 15 Years and older

1984:

X - 18+ classification


1996:

Advisory:

G - Suitable all ages

PG - Parental guidance Recommended for persons under 15

M15+ - Recommended for Mature audiences 15 years and over

Restricted:

MA15+ - Persons under the age of 15 must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian

R18+ - restricted to adults 18 years and over

X18+ - Applies to videos only and contains consensual sexually explicit material.  restricted to adults 18 years and over

RC - Refused classification
