Introducing the topic of Marchant & Company has resulted in a great selection of some of their best posters now being seen by poster lovers that otherwise may have remained unseen by so many, and that would have been a shame.
One important thing that also has happened is where I had sighted only one example of a Marchant Australian one sheet, another four have surfaced on this thread, including the magnificent original Casablanca. Hopefully we will have some more one sheet poster images posted over time to see.
In various conversations poster collectors of Australian posters often mention Australian Richardson Studio daybills, along with RKO daybills as being among the most desirable Australian paper to collect. With all the great images created by Marchant, not only with their daybills but also with their one sheets, I firmly believe they should now be mentioned alongside Richardson & RKO and given due recognition for their excellent designs.

Apart from Who Done It ? and Lost In A Harem where are the other Abbott And Costello Marchant poster images? There were a few others. Vesna where are you?
The posting of the Lost In A Harem ( 1944 ) image is very interesting for two reasons. To start with it is a 10 x 30 wartime size daybill and the only one I have sited being printed by Marchant & Co. and secondly apart from the two posters of The Hidden Eye and Dangerous Partners printed in 1945 with only M & C on them this the only poster printed for a 1945 film in full colour with the complete Marchant & Co. printer's details credited on the daybill I have sighted.. The film was released in Australia in August, 1945.
Hot off the press. I have just found another earlier Marchant & Co. 10 x 30 daybill image of the film Marriage Is A Private Affair ( 1944 ). The film was released in Australia in April,1945.
We We now established Marchant & Co. printed full colour daybills of 1944 US releases as late as 1945 in Australia.
Sorry all...David just pointed out you guys are asking after A&C...busy at the moment (just dropped in to say I got your message)...but tonight once the monkey's go down, I'm on it...will also see what else if anything I have to add to this wonderful thread.
Sorry missed an A & C...as I was back tracking to make sure I didn't double up, I noticed you have the db for Lost in a Harem not Rio Rita...here you go

Ok, you asked...3 more A and C daybills:
Abbott and Costello in Hollywood is simply marked as M&Co so I am assuming it is Marchant...
And here are some others:
These three have had the printing area removed or it is missing, but I am guessing they are Marchant...
Fairly confident the first two are...not as confident on the third though...
Phew, that was hard work...but enjoyable! Got to see many beauties I haven't looked at in a while.
I do have a few others but they are buried under a mountain of posters, so that is a job for another day...way way off in the future.
I did uncover some chromo print posters too, but will tackle that thread over the weekend.
Hope you enjoy!
