Fantastic. Love it all - the horse and cart display, the extensive use of poster displays, Frankenstein. I could rave on forever.We now have some record of a few daybills and other poster types previously not seen.Really great images and I know I will revisit this thread to have another look, probably on a regular basis.

There is a real gem here in the form of The Battles Of Cornel and The Falkland Islands a poster of a U. K. film released in the U.K. in 1927 as it is historic in many ways.The restored version of the film launched last year's London film festival. You can have a look at the restored film on the web.It is a dramatic reconstruction of two 1914 naval battles off Colonel and Falkland Islands.

The Bride Of Frankenstein display. Can anyone identifify which theatre & city this was taken outside? Getting conflicting information about it.

Excellent and better observation skills than me . I thought it probably was the film as the film premiered at the Hoyts Plaza, Sydney on 22 / 7/ 1935 and was possibly taken in Sydney.. I had found another image of this poster and it credited the photograph as being taken at the Regent theatre in Sydney.
Century Theatre at Broadmeadow in Newcastle. Was a favourite from my childhood. This is the best photograph I could locate to point out a couple of things. Firstly on the right of the picture and just left of the first telegraph pole and just a little left of the standing man are glass displays cases which would have one sheet posters in there. To the left of the picture there are more glass fronted display units with more posters of coming attractions and it appears a group of people are looking at them. Again on the left of the picture and unfortunately out of the picture was a large billboard which displayed 24 sheet posters. Inside the cinema doors various other movie poster displays were on show. It was a treat alone to go there just to look at the poster displays let alone see the programme.

What REALLY annoys me about this thread now is trying to work out what F$&@*N movie is being advertised in the photos!
