Nice ones, Charlie! Thanks for sharing.
I love bus stop posters...if shipping wasn't so pricey for them to the UK, I'd have a lot more than I do. -
I have one of those too, beautiful print and I love that it's signed by Bernie. I think all his work for Frankenstein is amazing.

Hi Ves, I've definitely felt in a funk at times during the last 18 months (as I'm sure many of us have)...so you're not alone. I think it's the 2 step forwards, 1 step back nature of this beast that can get to me sometimes. Sending you positive vibe…

(Quote) A friend of mine is a professional shipper in the UK - he handles shipping for lots of Mondo artists when they sell their Artist Proof copies (receives a bulk lot of prints, then re-ships individual orders).
I think it might pe… -
Yeah! That is great! Love seeing all the Ghibli and Kurosawa/Samurai posters like that. Very good.
-
I like both of those, Ves. Nice ones.
I still need to watch 'What We Do in the Shadows', I really like Taika Waititi's humour, so not sure why it has taken me so long. -
www.emovieposter.com have a very useful searchable auction history, if you search and filter on Japanese B1, that should help with rough figures for value.

The 'legit' versions seem to be the wilding versions which are pretty large (EMP sold a set recently, so measurements are on their site):

I like the current galleries on your site, Ves! The images are the right size for scrolling, the number on each page is about right and the photos are good too. So I'd recommend you do similar...I'll look forward to seeing them.

Nice collection and website! It's very nicely designed.
Will you continue to add new acquisitions to it? -
Happy Birthday, VMPF!

I went for Empire. I think that art is my favourite from any SW poster.
I do really like the Chantrell art on the quad though (it feels less cramped than the one sheet), my second favourite art from a SW poster in Daily Face Off - Star Wars vs. Empire Strikes Back Comment by Tob February 2019 -
Nice info and insights from the designer, thanks for sharing. I love that poster.

This Empire Strikes Back poster did pretty well, although not sure how the Buyer's Premium comes into play when calculating which is the 'world record'?

(Quote) I'm a similar age to you and have a similar sized collection. Sometimes I think "what on earth am I doing??". One day, I'd like to send a good chunk off to Bruce and have a much smaller collection, but at the moment, I love all of them too…

Prints from Mondo and co seem much more popular with the younger generations.
From what I see, some of their reasons...
- They see the prints as an 'artisan' product - strictly limited editions, created by a skilled artist a… -
That's a lovely post, thanks for sharing.
Rest in Peace, Jerry. -
(Quote) Ah! Now that would signal the end if Mondo did that!
Although Laurent did reprint the image...it was a giclee with no title/credits and much smaller too. -
(Quote) As Ves says, it's 24 x 36" and on thicker stock. It's also screen printed, signed by Kastel and has a minor difference in the credit block - "Original soundtrack available on MCA Records and Tapes" has been replaced with "Original soundtra…

Mel - I always dig the content you post here, on APF, Facebook. I really like the creative little collages you make and the info that goes with them. Keep it up!

(Quote) Agree with this for most businesses, although likes can be profitable. My friend has 240k followers on Instagram and it's lucrative - brands are queuing up to work with her.

(Quote) Yep, that's what I meant by "your sales seem to go up year on year" - total yearly sales have steadily climbed.
Good stuff, thanks Bruce, sounds like the hobby is in decent shape. -
Thanks for sharing, Bruce. Very interesting.
It'd be fascinating to crunch the numbers in detail to try and get an idea of the number of 'active' collectors out there and how that has changed. It'd probably be pretty time consuming to an… -
The starkest example I've seen is on the Expresso Beans forum - it used to be very busy, but they had some site issues and lots of downtime and lots of people seem to have moved to Facebook (the database is still very valuable and well used/maintain…

Hey Matias,
Paypal is unavailable in Turkey I think!
I know a chap there that can probably help, shoot me a PM if you want me to check with him.
Cheers,
Tob
Agree with Jay's post.
This site has a decent record of a lot of SW posters (can't vouch for accuracy, but I'm sure it's pretty good):
https://www.starwarsmovieposter.co…I don't remember hearing about any reprints/bootlegs from Phantom Menace onwards. I think if you stick to Double Sided (where available) and correct measurements, you should be fine.David, I use a free app called 'Instasize' - it quickly resizes images so they fit nicely into Instagram's squares with no cropping.
