  • I have a few of these. Just not on the wall right now. I have posters in them so I can at least admire the poster in the frame. I just haven't had any time to mount them. But they are great frames. I will be buying more eventually for the thai posters I want up.
  • These frames look fantastic. I might have to get a few!
  • I also have several and will vouch for quality.  In addition, they make a great starting point for an easy to build lightbox.

Look here for lightbox details.  Some of my stuff is in post #9.  http://www.avsforum.com/t/1392444/another-diy-poster-marquee-light-box
  • Lightbox looks great jayn! Great idea!

  • I can vouch for that. I contacted Robert about some frames for a few of my Thai posters that were odd sizes. I gave him the measurements he cut them to the size I needed and mailed them. And let me tell you the posters look fantastic in the frames.
  • Thanks Robert!  Keep up the good work.
  • Great news!!! Our overlay supplier is now supplying us with none/glare UV Protective Overlays up to size 48" x 96".  Before we could only go up to size 49" x 73" with the none/glare overlays.

    Please pass the word!

    Thank you!

  • Awesome - now on to the 6 sheet overlays!
  • Regarding framing of window cards...how do you all handle framing your window cards? I know that some are sold with written info at top/others have no writing. Does the value decline if it is trimmed? I have a few that I'm going to frame-not sure how to proceed. Any thoughts... Thanks, Mark
  • I am a "don't trim it" guy... It is personal preference.
  • Don't trim!

If you have them and they are not trimmed it would be sacrilege to trim them after they have survived this long not being cut up...
  • Thanks guys. I bought a Snow White bout a year ago & was going to frame it for my daughter this Christmas, & was wondering if I should trim so it would look more "clean". But agree, think it will look more "vintage" if written info is left on. Btw-it seems difficult to find window cards in better condition. Many older ones seem to be in lesser grades & I wonder hiw easy it is to address stains/paper loss on the heavier paper it's printed on. Mark.
  • An alternative is to use a larger frame and matte over the upper border.  Gives a clean look and preserves the poster.
  • Thanks, Hadn't thought of that but it sounds like a good idea-will have to see what it looks like. Have only framed one sheets & inserts so far.
  • Bump.
  • Thanks for the bump, Charlie, but neither of the images show up for me. I right clicked on the box that says "image" and selected "open image in new tab" just in case that would help, but it seems to link to a facebook page that only has the text "access denied".  :'(
  • If a blank top of a window card bugs you, and you don't want a big mat, just fold it back.

  • Bump... Reloaded the photos.
  • Groovy. Thanks, Charlie.  :)
  • Not really an update, as I haven't contributed much to this thread so far, but recently I purchased a linenbacked 1 sheet for Hot Rod. On one hand it's a good thing, as it's already backed and not super fragile as many posters of it's age are, but on the other hand, it was too large (with the exposed linen) to fit in a regular 1 sheet frame. What to do? After weighing a few options and soliciting the opinion and experience of folks that had ordered them previously, I decided to order a custom cut one from Robert at Spotlight Displays. Robert was very helpful with my questions and directions on how to order the custom size. Shipping time was quick, and the contents of the package were protected and secure enough for a trip to Mars, so they did well from IL to TN. Assembling the frame sections was simple and exactly like assembling the aluminum frame sections one would purchase at arts and crafts stores, just 2 screws at each corner. The idea of the plastic overlays sandwiching the poster and acting as both lens and backing seems odd on paper, but appears to work well in practice. From unboxing to poster in - ready to hang was about 10 minutes. I can't provide a pic yet of it hanging on a wall, as it's my same old problem of too many posters, not enough (Mrs. approved) wall space. I'll post that pic when I can, but for now, here it is. Since it's a custom size, I won't be swapping posters in and out of it, so I'll have to wait for the next one to give an opinion on ease of use and changing posters out. It looks like it would be pretty easy. From the perspective of a first time buyer that's new to the product, I would recommend it to anyone looking for a standard or custom size frame. Thanks, Robert.  :)
