I know The House of Frankenstein is a horror but there is something about the image that says comedy!
''You put your right foot in, you put your right hand out, you put your right hand in. and you shake it all about. You do the hokey pokey and you turn yourself around That what it's all about.''
Really excited as I just opened a poster I received from down under! As I live in AZ where quite few Westerns were filmed, this recent arrival of the 1938 Phantom Gold is much appreciated David. When my conservation, support & restoration skills have developed enough in each area I will tackle this one-of-kind poster.
Thx! I know! Hondo & all you Daybill affeciandos have drilled in me to examine who the printers are/was. And no info to be seen! Hondo? David? Anybody else have any ideas?
I read the thread here where it's likely not a serial, but a '30s B western. It'll great when framed!
I can't help you with the printer but I did some research on the actor Jack Luden when looking into the movie when I was unpacking and cataloging the poster; more interesting than you'd think:
Interesting indeed! Very sad ending to Luden's life. Makes me really want to see each of the four films he made with producer Darmour & finish with Phantom Gold. Will search, but am guessing most of the paper for his four films in that run are somewhat scarce.

No printer which is unusual but also no Columbia Pictures logo type of that year as well which is also unusual. Plus I am interested in why the image that has been reversed and placed upside down faintly on the reverse side of the poster is there?

This ghosting happens a lot on Aussie paper. It is either from being folded over while the ink was not completely saturated or from another poster, again with slightly transferable ink, pressed tightly against it
Agree with Chris, seen a few that look like the printing hasn't dried properly and slight images have been transferred to the next poster in the folding and packing to the cinemas. Most of which have been the ratings stamp.
Hi, this is my first post. love the site and seeing the amazing posters you all have. I picked this up in a recent Bruce auction. I had the insert a few years ago but always wanted the 3 sheet. I've sent it out for restoration to Lumiere and cant want to have it come back, so I can have it framed.
