    Latest additions to the Pile-o-Paperâ„¢

  • Wowzer, great additions Lyn!

I know The House of Frankenstein is a horror but there is something about the image that says comedy!  =)
  • Awesome as always Lyn.  Curse of the Cat People is a phenomenal viewing experience
  • Nice!!! Congrats Lyn...

  • Curse of the Cat People has a very nice design! So any different elements that work well together. Cool!
  • Really excited as I just opened a poster I received from down under! As I live in AZ where quite few Westerns were filmed, this recent arrival of the 1938 Phantom Gold is much appreciated David. When my conservation, support & restoration skills have developed enough in each area I will tackle this one-of-kind poster.

  • Nice one Mark! Interesting, no printers detail.

Thx! I know! Hondo & all you Daybill affeciandos have drilled in me to examine who the printers are/was. And no info to be seen! Hondo? David? Anybody else have any ideas? :pensive:

I read the thread here where it's likely not a serial, but a '30s B western. It'll great when framed!
  • Nice!
  • Another freebie despatched to collectors of the world!

I can't help you with the printer but I did some research on the actor Jack Luden when looking into the movie when I was unpacking and cataloging the poster; more interesting than you'd think:

  • Wonderful as always Lyn.  I know there will be something special to look at when you've posted in this thread!

And that Phantom Gold is great!  Will look amazing when cleaned up!

  • Interesting indeed! Very sad ending to Luden's life. Makes me really want to see each of the four films he made with producer Darmour & finish with Phantom Gold. Will search, but am guessing most of the paper for his four films in that run are somewhat scarce.
  • Phantom Gold is great but I think Tuffy needs a new agent

No printer which is unusual but also no Columbia Pictures logo type of that year as well which is also unusual. Plus I am interested in why the image that has been reversed and placed upside down faintly on the reverse side of the poster is there?

This ghosting happens a lot on Aussie paper.  It is either from being folded over while the ink was not completely saturated or from another poster, again with slightly transferable ink, pressed tightly against it
  • Thanks. Never seen one like that before.

Mark, what a great western poster, can't beat a good bar fight scene! Well look forward to seeing it linen backed.

Lyn! Also luv checking you latest acquisitions, always top notch horror in the mix. Congrats!

  • Agree with Chris, seen a few that look like the printing hasn't dried properly and slight images have been transferred to the next poster in the folding and packing to the cinemas. Most of which have been the ratings stamp.
  • Both excellent stuff Lyn and Mark..
  • Chris these posters are sick - are these in your personal collection? Are you willing to sell any of them?

Thanks!  Yes they are and not right now :)
  • Nice!!!!
  • Hi, this is my first post. love the site and seeing the amazing posters you all have. I picked this up in a recent Bruce auction. I had the insert a few years ago but always wanted the 3 sheet. I've sent it out for restoration to Lumiere and cant want to have it come back, so I can have it framed.
  • Nice! :plus_one: and welcome!
  • Welcome! And that is a helluva a good start to your posting, we've got a few Boggie fans here, don't take your eyes off your poster.

When re-backed and framed, we want to see proof in this category and in this category!
