General question on newer release QUADS

I am in the process of re-cataloguing and have a few instances of shall we say, um not so great Aussie films getting more than one QUAD design.

Is this normal for newer release films in the UK?  That is, that they should get several designs released?

It all depends on the Campaign, and budget usually, but the simple answer is Yes, sometimes up to 4 different designs, I have seen more, but they are usually the bigger budget films.

Don't forget there could be a teaser and a standard Quad which would make two for many of the films..  Some are just subtle differences too, like words changed.
  • All we need is a Belgian who speaks Belgium in this forum and then I think all paper expert bases will be covered
  • Had to go back an double check, definitely not ADV and STANDARD...I understand the use of multiples for big films... The recent Great Gatsby had some lovely character sets out, but this is a film which came and went (here at least) with barely a blip on the film radar which is why it surprised me there were two quads!

Thanks for the info Paul, much appreciated.

  • What is the film Ves?
  • Son of A Gun...I'm thinking maybe they did it because Ewan McGregor is in it?  I dunno...seems odd to me.imageimage

It's not just this one...I've noticed it with a few not so good aussie films, mainly because that is what I am collecting (aussie films) so I keep an eye on the UK stuff too.

  • Yes, run of the mill for UK posters. The bottom one is a "press-quotes" version, usually printed after the top one, once a few reviews are out.

I just picked up a Jurassic World Press-quotes last week, but got the standard Quad about 4 weeks back.  They are both the same art/image, but one has the quotes on.
  • Thanks again for your input Paul.  Much appreciated.
  • The monkey style is far better than the McGregor!!
