Was never a big fan of his music, but liked most of the songs I heard. Although he did break new ground and seemed to be very talented.

Loved him growing up.  Way too many great songs to pick just one.  Saw all his movies, but really there really was only one ahem good one...Purple Rain.
His latest stuff wasn't up my alley, but he will be missed.  Apparently a very talented producer.
