Horrible, In More Ways than One, Major 20th Century Fox Error In Judgement

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              A major error occured in the publication of the above The Fly ( 1958 ) promotional advertising within the Australian Women's Weekly issue dated 6 August, 1958.The film was released in the U.S.A. on the 16 July. 1958 but was banned from exhibition in Australia in 1958. A major oversight and has one wondering how did this happen? Horror films were hated in Australia around this time by the censor and why attempt to pre-empt the Australian Commonwealth censor's ruling on this film knowing it was a horror film and odds of being passed for exhibition slim?  This is the only instance where I have ever seen something like this happen. Interestingly had the film been passed for exhibition, note under the image far right, we are informed ( spoilers ) that the character Patricia Owens plays kills her husband. ''Horror In Colour'' in bold print would nave been frowned upon as well by our censor I would have thought.
