He acted in so many movies in a cross section of characters, there is probably at least one movie you saw with him in it that you enjoyed his performance. Max in Midnight Express was a great one.
Many of the media reports are just referring to him as John Hurt. He was actually knighted in 2015 so it would be worth acknowledging him as Sir John Hurt. He deserves that title!
