  • Great stuff! Farrah poster for the win! I think at one time I had all the angels, even Cheryl Ladd, up on my walls. Good Lord I’m old. ;)
  • I know that farrah poster is iconic, but I never warmed to it.  Her smile isn't friendly, but aggressive.  Kind of like the expression my cat had before she clawed and bit me.

    Good one, Jay! =)
  • Country Girl Spanish is nice!

Last two Liz Taylor's are classics.

Thanks... Now I'll never look at it the same way again.  lol  I think I was more excited about finding it in the wild rolled up at an estate sale than anything.  It was buried among other 70s posters including a very nice Japan travel poster.  But the jackhats that organized the sale wrote the prices in sharpie on the back.  On a white background of the Japan poster, it bleed right through...
  • Nice find on the Farrah poster Charlie, nothing turns up over here poster-wise at these sales..

She’s smiling? Oh yeah, I suppose she is! I don’t know if I ever looked that far up on the poster before! ;)
  • Black Cat is great!  And loving the top still of Ms Taylor...

    Rock.... ;)
  • Pretty heavy action in Bruce's major last night.  I was looking hard at a dozen lobbies, but the prices went wild and I was only able to snag 3.  FWIW, of the 146 lots of lobby cards last night, 25 went for $1000 or more.  That forced me to pick and choose.  It killed me to eventually drop out on that King Vidor's Hallelujah card. Hopefully the ones I won are rather iconic.  I think 2 of the three might go in the only known copy (unicorn) thread.

This one was actually overlooked, and I snagged it for peanuts

A pre-code Joan Blondell in a musical I just had to have.  It could also fit nicely in my border art thread

Finally, THE card of the day.  A true unicorn.  The first MGM musical, and the card from the first performance of the iconic Singin' in the Rain

  • Awesome Jay - very nice!
  • Woah!!! Knocked it out of the park with the Gold Diggers - I even noticed that one and don’t collect that era...
  • Beautiful cards! Congratulations!!  :o

Jay, you got two of my very favorite cards in the entire auction (irregardless of price).

I think the prices we achieved for the top cards will attract a similarly wonderful selection in our July Major Auction!

    Well done, sir!

Here is a handy checklist to help tell eMoviePoster.com apart from all other major auctions!
HAS lifetime guarantees on every item - IS eMoviePoster.com
HAS unrestored and unenhanced images - IS eMoviePoster.com
HAS 100% honest condition descriptions - IS eMoviePoster.com
HAS auctions where the winner is the higher of two real bidders - IS eMoviePoster.com
HAS "buyers premiums" - NOT eMoviePoster.com
HAS "reserves or starts over $1 - NOT eMoviePoster.com
HAS hidden bidder IDs - NOT eMoviePoster.com
HAS no customer service to speak of - NOT eMoviePoster.com
HAS "nosebleed" shipping charges - NOT eMoviePoster.com
HAS inadequate packaging - NOT eMoviePoster.com

  • Ukelele (ukulele?) Ike sounds like the kind of uncle we all wish we had...
  • Awesome cards Jay! Gold Diggers has great color shades, & Blondell....va va voom!

Not familiar with H Revue, but Art Deco is the way to go!
  • Nice haul Charlie, you have an eye for getting some stunning stills!

JAY! Stunning lobbies you classy fella! :)
  • Those lobbies are outstanding Jay!  :o
  • A new addition for me, currently being treated to a lovely cross country journey courtesy of the US postal service. Where Are Your Children, from 1943:

where are your children 1 sheet

And as an extra added bonus (I do not consider it a bonus) it may or may not have been signed by Gale Storm:
where are your children 1 sheet detail

    :)

  • That is spectacular!
  • Monogram Pictures, Rock! Love the artwork! And an auto to boot! Nice pickup!
  • Thanks, guys. For movies like this with sensationalistic titles, I always find it amusing to look them up on IMDB and find out how bland and dull the story actually sounds. Lots and lots of cases where the posters are way better than the movies themselves. That’s part of why we likes ‘em, though. :)

    Charlie's Country US One Sheet

They're are a Weird Mob. You can say that again!
  • Well done Rock!
    Ves liking that quad!
  •  Love the Charlie's Country one sheet.
  • To me it's all beautiful, from the posters that Charlie posted (Fawcett smiling but not smiling); the amazing stills, Taylor is especially gorgeous); those lobbies Jay picked up at Bruce's (never thought about collecting that era but seeing The Hollywood Revue changed my mind); and the funny named posters (what a great UK quad).

Just joined, first post, first discussion have had chance to fully read, and have to say all of it is great.. the art.. stories.. finding the unicorn.. and all the up-lifting comments! Like I said, it's all beautiful, baby  :)
  • Welcome!  Have fun there is a cornucopia of knowledge and posters to explore...
  • Welcome Tangent!!
