“Of All the Gin Joints in All the World, She Made This One Real” (Casablanca Dispatch, July 2), about Rick’s Café in Casablanca, reminds me of the best evidence of the movie’s significance.

In everyday American speech, there are three common sources of clichés: the Bible, Shakespeare and “Casablanca.”

We’ll always have Paris.
