Theater light up poster display, thoughts??

Hello, was wondering if anyone has seen one of these before. I have not been able to get any info on this piece. The poster inserts could be Mylar but not sure and are not double sided but when light hits behind the poster, the poster lights up as seen on the Flatliners poster in the display. Thought it could be a blockbuster movie store or any video store display for that matter. Made by RCA //////.   thanks

That is a video store backlit display.  Pretty neat.  What is the size. I’ve seen double sided mylars for home video.

Thanks, yah I picked it up for $60 bucks which I thought was fair working light and perfect condition. Something you don’t see everyday. I will comment back with size once I get back to it’s location.

Charlie, what are your thoughts on price on the market for this display?

I've seen these in antique stores priced at $50 or so.

My personal feeling is that for that money, I can build a lightbox to hold a real double sided poster.  This may have some historical interest, but not as much.  This is a later display from RCA and promotes the laserdisc instead of the CED disk that RCA was previously promoting.  I have a feeling that if this was an earlier display with the Selactavision CED disc, it would be worth more.

In fact, I have done so, and posted instructions a few times.  Cost is in the $100 range with LED rope lighting and a spotlight display front mounting frame. You can see some images of mine at: http://users.frii.com/cindy/lightbox/
